But I went about 72 hours with nothing but coffee and to tell the truth I wasn't hungry when I stopped.
I did this once as well. It started out water only until the caffeine headache become unbearable.

After my 14 day plateau. One sounds great.

What do you put in your coffee? By itself, coffee is only 2 calories per 8oz. Some Equal/Splenda for 0 calories, and a splash of milk/cream for 25 calories or less and your done.
BTW- I don't drink coffee much, but when I do, I use fat free half & half and equal.
i'm being conservative and deliberatly overestimating my caloric intake. i figure there's no harm

Day 2, I also was not the least bit hungry until about 2 or 3 am I woke up starved but I fell back asleep and when I woke up the cravings were gone.
last night was the first night i had trouble falling asleep. it wasn't hunger as much as it was a weird-semi-nauseated feeling.
and i'm not totally fasting..i'm feeding my body some fat and protein but in very small doses.

I actually felt fine the whole time. of course I still have plenty of reserves for the body to burn off.
If I would have gone longer but a couple of the posts I read about fasting spooked me, especially since i needed to drive a lot. If I could have stayed around the home base, I would have kept going a few more days for shits and giggles.

Recently I did a "fast" where I ate no food for 14 days.
Every day I had coffee (black), 8oz. of orange juice, and a Boost (or related brand) and lots of water.
I was not doing it for weight loss and only had the calories because I still needed to work etc.
It was difficult but not terrible. About day 4 I got a sort of "oh man 10 more days. wow!" feeling.
And I struggled mightily in my indoor soccer game.

To borrow a line from a James Brown song "I feel good!" Dropped 3 more lbs since Monday. Close to halfway where I need to get to. 245/232/215.

Gotta push hard till Wednesday. Going to the LSU recruiting bash and will probably deviate from my plan that day.

Don't have access to scale today, binged on peanuts and chocolate last night- if it's there I will eat it. Shame on me.

You've inspired me. Last week I started cutting down on cokes and this week I have stopped with drive thru breakfast and lunch and started taking my lunch and eating breakfast at home.
Baby steps.
Baby steps.

i can't say this enough:
DO NOT EAT OUT WHILE TRYING TO LOSE WEIGHT. PERIOD.
fast food/applebees/mufaletta/wafflehouse/etc etc
will kill you in 2 ways:
1. the food is loaded with hidden calories and sodium (don't believe the calories listed on the 'menu' guide..joe bob in the kitchen is cooking this stuff and i seriously doubt he's making sure he doesn't add a couple extra scoops of butter when he's sauting your eggs) and if nothing else, you're going to gain between 1-4 lbs from a single meal due to water retention and that in itself is demotivating.
in addition, salads suck. i need to find that article again that showed the santa fe salad at applebees had like 1,700 calories. Can you say KA-BOOM????
2. you worked hard to get your body imbalanced to the point it was working..and the weight was coming off. eating out JUST ONCE can disrupt that pattern for several days. why put yourself through that?
take the time, buy the same stuff from kroger (its cheaper anyway) and cook it yourself. the other benefit here is you have to be more patient and make it yourself..so you're delaying the calorie consumption.
this game is TIME vs. CALORIES. if MORE time passes with FEWER calories consumed in that same period, you win.

i got 2 long rides i'm doing this weekend..i expect to go into next week at 209. then its the HOME STRETCH TO

Good job Cad! I love to cook anyway so that makes it that much easier not to eat out. Jones--Soft drinks make a ton of difference IMO. I haven't touched one since Jan 3rd and I drank about 2 of those 32oz fountain drinks a day.

I haven't seen less than 200 since I was in 8th grade. I'd like to get to about 220.

I agree that restaurants are a danger zone, but not everyone can live like a hermit.
Although I have for the most part been a hermit, I still get out to a restaurant with friends about 1 time a month.
Told myself from the start that I would eat like I wanted on holidays and when out with friends and family and make up any damage in between cheats.
I've been lazy in December and January with little to no exercise. I plan to start up again in Feb. Hopefully things start to warm up in Feb.

Yesterday we wanted to go eat at Pimanyoli's, so I saved up calories all day. 200 for breakfast, 300 for lunch, no snacks, walked 2 miles, cut the grass, web site said I had 1400 calories to go to be under budget for the day. So I got a small combo platter, ribs, pulled pork, baked beans, M&C and we split a bread pudding, 1100 cals total. Still up 1.5 lbs this morning.
Eating out and alcohol are reduction killers, no matter how you do it.

Especially alcohol. It used to make me hungry as well as lowering willpower to the point I would drop the diet and gorge myself.
