Time to get back into my workouts after 2 weeks off. The leg injury is almost completely healed. This first week back on low carb may be rough

Well, I am off this Friday so I hope I won't have to worry about the D-word.

How about the B-word?

They had freaking beignets today. I behaved.

I feel like my mind is finally right again to do this. When I was really on, I found it hard to cheat. Lol the last month it was the opposite. It's funny though, when I got too lazy to track my weight and food every day is when I started really slacking. I really believe that counting calories, even just a rough estimate is the most important thing you can do.

On a side note, I've been trying to help my dad lose weight. He won't tell me his weight but I know he is somewhere around 400 pounds. It's the biggest he's ever been. He's lost a lot of weight before, he's always been around 300 but I know once he got down to about 250 about 7-8 years ago so I know he can do it. I tried to tell him that counting calories is his best bet but he's just so set on counting fat grams. I know he'll probably lose some doing that (if he sticks with it, which he hasn't) but I can't seem to get him to understand that fat isn't as bad as it's made out to be and that if he still eats a lot of crappy non-fat food he's going to gain weight.

Not all is negative though, we've started walking together a few nights a week. That first night we went from my house to the end of my street and back which was maybe 3/10ths of a mile. He was exhausted from that. Last night we went from my house to the bank which roundtrip was almost a mile and a half and he seemed no worse for the wear. It's amazing how the body can regain strength so quickly.

What's even more amazing is that something I would take for granted like walking a mile is a challenge for someone else. It makes me thankful for what I can do and a little less obsessive over my running speed or lack thereof. The best part though is that my dad and I have gotten a lot closer through all of this. He and I haven't always seen eye to eye on things but this has definitely helped big time.

Anyways csb, tl;dr.

That's great weagle, sounds like you are having a positive influence on your Dad and getting closer to him as well. I'm about 10 lbs away from my goal as well. No more slacking and excuses. I'm pissed I've gotten off track, been kinda stressed lately, injured my leg and couldn't work out which led to cheats, blah, blah, blah. Today is the day the wheels get back on.

Fruit Pies and Bread Pudding were the daily office temptations.

I didn't give in but I REALLY wanted some bread pudding.

I have all sorts of temptations tomorrow with Free Lunch Wednesday followed by a birthday party. My favorite spinach dip will be served at said party.

I have lost every pound I gained after I quit smoking on March 8 2010.

I am also at the halfway point of the 87 pounds I want to lose.

Now it's time to celebrate with a huge cheeseburger, fried cheese, jalapeno chili cheese fries, ice cream sundae, and....Oh...shite. Nevermind.

Maybe I'll switch to regular and not "lite" salad dressing.

For no more smoking.

For the 42 lbs drop.

255/203.8/195

I have fallen off the wagon a little the last few weeks as far as my diet goes. Even though my 5K times have been improving, I have to pay the price for pushing to hard and take a few days off. So as of now I am not getting much done and I need to turn it around soon. The time to start really training for the Louisiana Marathon is fast approaching. I need to get it together soon.
