At one point Saturday I was 249 pounds when I weighed that evening. I'm back in the saddle now.

2 weeks of craziness really added the REAL weight back onto my body. It is taking forever to get back into the 170s.

Vacation weight officially gone on day 11. Need to have a good stretch of no cheats over the next couple weeks to reach this goal

I just purchased the Insanity workout on Amazon. I am absolutely stoked about getting back into shape.

Currently I am 5'7 (5'8 on a good day), and weigh in at anywhere between 188-191 depending on what happens that day. Amazingly, I can still pass my PT test and have no problems doing it. I'm just tired of measuring in with a 39 inch abdominal circumference.

Has anyone done this in the past, and if so, what are some tips you can give me to better my experience.

It's tough, but should be ok for a guy in decent shap.

I'd suggest watching your form to avoid injury. And like any new program, don't give up. Make it through the 1st week or 2 and it gets easier and hopefully motivates you to push through.

I'm no expert but at 5'7 and 39" waist, I'd focus on food intake more than fitness. As LE preaches, though, do both.

That said, Glad you found this thread. Post your stats and welcome.

My wife is thinking about doing a 10k in about 3 months. She does not like to run. I have been running a few months now, and enjoy it. I also ran in high school. The fact that she's interested in the idea has me pumped. What should I do to encourage her? I already suggested the couch to 10k plan. I don't want to push her to hard on the matter, but I want her to get excited about it. Right now her friend is the driving force behind it.

Does not compute. I'm about your height and if I weighed 188, I am pretty sure I'd be wearing size 34 pants.

Oh I wear size 34 in shorts/pants, but the Air Force measures your abdominal circumference and not your waist line and that's where I get the 39 from.

And I am definitely trying to eat better. Unfortunately my wife makes AMAZING food (she is aspiring to be a chef), and it's hard to not eat anything she cooks

The free lunch today was spaghetti, daube, lasagna, salad and garlic bread.

I did okay. I probably ate a little too much daube with salad. Skipped the garlic bread, pasta and lasagna. Oh and leftover ham, turkey and roast beef poboys from a lunch seminar.

So I guess the stats go

starting weight/current weight/goal?

If so, 189/189/160

I took my blood pressure today after my squadron intramural softball game: 105/84. It's amazing that I can pass all these health tests and all my screenings heart rate readings come back healthy as an ox, but i'm a fat piece of trash LOL. Maybe I have a thyroid issue

I jinxed myself yesterday when I made this face to TigerMyth about getting under 180

225/180/175 up from 178.5

The gain is no mystery however, lunch plans got all messed up and I had chick fingers from Popeyes Saltcity Diner

I am fat by Air Force standards. I agree that a 34 inch waist is normal, but a 39 inch abdominal circumference (aka beer gut), is not as great
