Wish I could say the same. Leaving Saturday for a week at the beach. I have had a good week though, although I had a terrible week last week.

Dear 205,

As allusive as you may try to be, I am but a few more days of proper dieting and exercising away from making you my bitch. It has now been 135 days of lifestyle change, sweat, and agony to get this close and by day 140 I will achieve my goal of 205.

I'm in on the no cheat weekend for sure. Today doesn't count....right?? It's been a stressful day with my dog already and it seems like work is trying to send me over the edge. I was fasting today but when my lunch rolled around I was starving and had no food. So I hit McDonalds. I got the spicy chicken mcbites, I looked up the nutrional info and of course they're not good for me but they're not as bad as I thought they'd be as far as calories, carbs, and sodium are concerned.

I would end up eating the brown bag and the free lunch.

Think they would let me skip work on Wednesdays?

Skipping work is the only solution. Get in your bosses office and renegotiate your schedule and ask for a raise.

I think lsucm is on to something myth.

Well yesterday just continued sucking. I got busy and the wife and I ended up splitting a frozen pizza. Plus I don't think the no cheat weekend is happening. I forgot I'm going to my sister's to eat tomorrow so no telling what that will be, but on the plus side I'll be getting exercise playing soccer with my brother in law. That is if we can with the heat. It's supposed to be 104 tomorrow.

Then Sunday we're taking out my in laws and my parents for their anniversary since both of their anniversaries were this month. Oh well. I'll try my best.

I have an app that I use to track my weight and if I keep losing at the pace I have been (which has slowed consierably lol) it says I'll be down to 205 which is my big goal by the middle of September. I'm skeptical but hopeful. September is my first trail run 5k so being that much lighter should help big time.

CM, is it you that does the 5k's? I'm sorry I get mixed up sometimes. I'm just wondering what a good time to aim for is. I know that on my long run days I do a 5k and including a five minute walk and around five more minutes of walking in between runs I average about 42 minutes. I see most people go for a sub 30 minute 5k. Do you think that's a good goal or should I maybe just go for sub 35?

I think today will be my best indicator since I'll be doing my 20 minute nonstop run today.

Off to a good start, ran 2.5 miles this morning, going walk 9 holes after work today.

Girlfriend wanted to go have a date night downtown tonight, I told her no, because I could let my guys on td.com down

Hanging by the pool drinking water all weekend.

Well I had to cancel with my sister so now I just have the one dinner. The no cheat weekend may just make it after all. I don't see how you people in Louisiana make it with all the good food you have down there. Auburn has a few places but nothing to write home about.

The couch to 5k running plan tries to get you to run a 5k around 30 minutes. The 20 minute no stop run is a big step but you can do it. Take it easy if you have to, but do not walk on the 20 minutes. Sounds like you are on week 6? Based on that information and that the race is in September. I think if by the end of July you could have an average pace of 10:15 to 10:30/ mile. From that time to race day you could be around 9:00 - 9:30 / mile. At that pace you will be sub 30 minutes which is good. As you prepare for the race once you can run the distance, you'll need to go for even longer runs (4-5 mils), and you should also have shorter runs that are for speed work. If you want more information on the types of runs that can prepare you for the race, just let me know. So, to answer your question, running a sub 30 minute 5k is a good goal. In most 5k's that will have you in the top 65%.
If you have a fleet feet in your area, they have training programs that are helpfull. I am taking a speed work class this summer and on two mile runs I have reduced my time a lot. Last 5k pace was 8:50, and my last 2 mile race pace was 7:38. Keep up the hard work and you can accomplish any goal short term and long term. For example, my short term goal(by football season) is to break 7:00 minute mile / mile. Long term goal is a half marathon ( December and January) and a marathon in March. Goal for Marathon is 4 hours.

Good luck to you.

I'm in on the no cheat weekend. I need to have a good weekend because I know I will not have a good 4th.

I had a great day yesterday. I ordered a salad for the work seminar then a salad for dinner.

The scale is still pissed from the Wednesday debacle and refuses to move down.
