CADfast= CAD been pushing the benefits of fasting. The 24 hour fast isn't that difficult but pretty effective. I haven't fasted in a while but....

yes, i'm on one right now. its super easy if you set a starting point of dinner the day before.
so i ate last night around 7; i wont eat until tonight at 7. you get a 'boost' because the first 8 hours of the 'fast' are just sleeping anyway. this way you dont feel like you have to go through a day without eating but still get in 24 hours.
its a true fast..i'll drink black coffee today and water only and then eat normally at dinner and back to my normal routine tomorrow.
i posted an image a few pages back that shows the most effective fat-burning period for your body is hours 18-24. after that the curve flattens dramatically so you don't need to kill yourself doing this for multiple days.
you'll be 2-4lbs lighter the following morning but that will bump back up the next day..however the fat you lost will NOT. you do this once/week for a couple months and you're guaranteed to lose fat.
look up 'eat stop eat' for more info. i also have the pdf if you want me to email it to you..its quite interesting.

Held off on the CADfast because I have a lunch meeting today. If I use discipline and restraint, no fast tomorrow. If the sodium/carbs and PUFA's jump me, I'll be eatless tomorrow.
:fingerscrossed:

225/194.5/185 Just finished my 3rd CADfast and lost 2 lbs, which seems to be the norm for me. I did a 9pm Mon to 9Pm Tues and ystdy was rough. The 5pm-5pm is defunately the way to go. the weekends are killing me and at some point I need to get serious about the cheats.Superbowl menu will be meats and veggies.Go Eli

Yesterday I hit 166.6 which kept me in the office competition lead but barely.
Then free lunch was daube and eggplant parmigiana and I went a bit overboard.
168.1 today from all the salt.
I've got a big minefield to maneuver through this weekend with college roomie in town and Super Bowl.

No penance necessary, mainly due to not having time to overeat. started pushups burpees to get moving again.

H, how was your CADfast experience. 284 seems like a good recovery.

It was pretty terrible. Around the 18 hour mark my stomach started hurting so bad it felt like it was cramping. I ended up giving in and eating because it was physically hurting.

I wonder if I can get to 281 before Sunday?
Sunday is my last big hoorah. One last ode to the '11-'12 football season. Time to buckle down and get serious.

I googled eat stop eat pdf. It was the 2nd result. I read the whole pdf yesterday. Interesting concept. I started my first fast last night. Finished dinner at 5:59 last night. So, I'm about 13 hours into my fast right now. Very easy to start out after dinner. Half way through and it's been a breeze. I think breakfast will be fine. Making it from lunch to dinner is going to suck though.

slack, keep water handy and its not too bad. I think the key is not to gorge at the fastbreak. hopefully mine will be like last time, because I wasn't very hungry until the next morning's breakfast.
i guess traditional fasts were broken in the morning, hence "breakfast". supperbreak seems easier to me.
