yeah, traditional religious fasts are like that. I've been drinking a good amount of water for several weeks. I grab a cup (maybe 14 oz) and start in the morning around 5:20 and don't stop until I go to bed between 9-10. I've been in a real kick lately of enjoying munching on ice. So, when the ice melts, I've been throwing down the water and getting more.

I'm thinking about starting the couch to 5k plan found here maybe next week.

I guess I should weigh myself and set a goal so that I can start posting my fatty/lessfatty/lookgoodnaked stats like everyone else.

By the time I did my second fast it wasn't too bad, drink water. I also had one teaspoon of plain psyllium husk mixed with water and it takes some of the edge off. It also didn't affect my amount of weight loss. I've done 3 fasts now and I always lose 2 lbs.

I think if I fast again, I'll do it so I can break it in the morning. The only hard part seemed to be the last few hours for me. My stomach was hurting badly, made me nervous.

the 5pm to 5pm seems the easiest to me, don't be nervous if your stomach hurts, you'll live

dude that shite was hurting. IDC that I won't die from it, that was some scary pain. Makes me nervous to even try it again. Like, I was curled up on my couch in the fetal position.

a little over 15 hours in, and i'm feeling fine. I'm assuming the 18-24 time frame will be the worst. And, I'm sure I'll feel strange. Of course, that's when my body will start turning fat into energy.

Plus, I'm about to start some online virtual training for work, and that should keep me tied up at least until 2:00.

Any tips for getting headaches while fasting?

squeeze the nerve between thumb and pointer finger a few times. makes you forget about the headache. then drink more water if you can hold the cup.

first fast went well. Wasn't really tempted to eat at all until I got home. I was thinking about trying the fast on Mondays and Fridays. Anyone doing more than once a week?

Congrats H (new low?)

CADfast not as beneficial this time but still positive result. done in by a 1/2 pounder with cheddar and sweet potato fries at the break. I can see how the binge-fast mindset takes root.
slow and steady is probably better for me.

I'll bite.

Started at 210 / Now at 205 / Want to be Down to 185 by June.

Started Wednesday January 11th.

The wife and I are eating less (counting calories) and moving more. Best weight loss plan out there.

The food logging IPhone app is awesome.

Welcome aboard!

323/164.4/159

That 164.4 is the lowest I have been since before Thanksgiving so the holiday weight is finally gone.

Short-lived though. I am going out to dinner tonight and my willpower is a touch weak after almost 5 weeks without a major cheat.

Dang little tiny chick at work is probably going to pass me this week in the Biggest Loser competition.

Went to Superior Seafood for dinner. I think I did pretty good considering the options on the menu.

Went with chargrilled oysters. They are a bit heavy on the cheese but still tasty. Ate only one piece of bread. Oh and they are not stingy with the sauce like Acme. I could have eaten a loaf of bread with all the sauce on the plate.

Then went with the blackened chicken Caesar. A Caesar isn't exactly the healthiest salad out there but their Caesar doesn't have a heavy dressing and they don't use as much as some other places. The chicken was very good BUT not a whole lot of chicken made it into the salad.

My buddy had the Buffalo shrimp. His looked pretty darn good and he liked it.

I'll go back. Plenty of things I would have liked to mow down.

My original plan was a bowl of crawfish and corn bisque with the salad but I figured I could knock a few calories off with the oysters.

Hmmm, all the nutritional info I can find shows 4 oysters per portion and a staggering level of calories. Seems high to me.

After a week Of comfort eating its back to work tomorrow. Ill be making the 4 hour drive back to Ruston tomorrow and it's a good time for me to do a fast.

I'm glad cad found all the research on the benefits of a 24 hour fast. Usually when I have to make the drive to or from Ruston I usually don't eat those days anyway so I'm glad to have proof that it helps.

I usually eat caesar salads. Caesar is normally low carb so I stick with that.

Low carb but from place to place they can be SUPER high in sodium and calories.

2 pound gain from my outing last night. Sodium hit me cause no way I gained two pounds from 12 tiny broiled oysters and a big Caesar salad.

I will be doing a CadFast from Tuesday Morning until Wednesday morning for this week's weigh-in.

I think most of the 24 hour weight loss from a fast is nothing more than water because you have zero sodium intake and flush out excess water so a CadFast should help me drain excess water before the weigh-in.

I really want to win that damn contest so I can buy a nice big arse hd monitor.
