Myth you're a legend and a genius for the loser competitions with CAD and your stepdad. The re-target from 185 to 175 and then to 165 was brilliant. It's the reason I re-targeted from 150 to 145. It will give you room to maneuver (or grow) in maintainence without a sense of panic.

Maintainence for me has been tricky. I've been pretty lax on food intake but still keep track of cals/carbs/sodium on myfitnesspal. I stay in a three pound wobble range depending on sodium and carbs intake. 170/147.5/145

Good luck to you and CT in this new chapter

Hulk, you're not alone. I get back to my low almost every Friday, and I think to myself "Now don't got F**K it up!" But then every Monday morning, I'm 2-3 lbs higher. I wish I had a hermit mode.

I feel your pain Hulk. I could have easily broken back into the beloved 200's by now if it weren't for my weekend drinking which led to cheating the past 2 weekends. I didn't gain any this weekend, but didn't lose any either. I will be into the 200's by the end of the week.

I began my Atkins journey on July 12.

Can't you guys go out with friends and drink water?????? I do this all the time and still can have fun. Once you put the booze in, your inhibitions become nonexistent and your resolve rapidly follows.

I was drinking while fishing with friends that I don't see very often. I highly doubt I could manage a trip with them and not drink. Pitiful I know.

Holy shite!!! 25 lbs in a little over a month.

Hulk, if I hit 199 before you hit 299, you should be ashamed. I'm old enough to be your daddy and have less weight left to lose. No excuses. Time to get motivated.

266.6/210.2/190 March 9th start date.

ETA: I'm also going to the LSU/Oregon game and turning it into a 5 day weekend with uncontrolled eating and drinking, so you already have another advantage.

You gotta go for 161.5 so you can say you lost half of your body weight. That's just crazy.

How fat are you Hulk? I'm pushing about 250 these days... what should I do to get down to 215 or so?

Wrap a rope around your neck 15 times and pull it really tight.

Many people in this thread are using Atkins. It is really a man diet -- lots of meat. But, can you not drink?

:terd: ... I started at 363.. down to 310 at my lowest. I think I'll have a net loss in the morning because I weigh 311 right now and I always weigh 3 pounds or so more at night than in the morning. Most people in here will recommend you do Atkins. It's a very man-friendly diet and if you're not a carboholic it's really easily done. Although it is very strict and sometimes the repetition of your food can get boring.

CT.. Dr. Atkins is highly against drinking on Atkins, but says that in moderation a drink or two won't do too much, as long as you go the low carb route (liquor and carb free mixer, like jack and coke zero, vodka and powerade zero, etc). Your body burns the alcohol off first and it metabolizes into sugar, but once it's done burning all of the alcohol off you go back into ketosis supposedly. But when you go overboard it can cause stalls, which it does to me.

Bham.. I've made a pact with my friends to not touch another alcoholic drink until I break 300. What they don't know yet is that when I get there, there's going to be another pact until probably 275 I can tell myself not to drink easily, but when my friends are disappointed because I'm not drinking with them I feel guilty and do it.. But I have to stay committed. Maybe I can say once a month let myself go just to maintain sanity.. but I know myself and if I give myself an inch I'll wind up taking a mile
