That's what happens.

You have to force yourself to eat usually.
Just eat clean now. You got it. It's fuel. Tell yourself that.

You'll drop 20 lbs in the first few months, easily.

thats one of the beautiful things about IF. You start looking at food as fuel instead of just eating for taste.

Should have weighed myself before starting, or during this.

Switched to bourbon and lots of fresh-mex food

Like beer, I only consume for the taste.

It would be like having sex for procreation only.

I have found a nice fat cigar (mostly maduro or robusto) works well with keto and If.

Another lurker on the old thread. Y'all are super inspiring. I've been doing generic low carb with no real tracking. I feel so much better & have very few cravings when I eat low carb. I'm looking into switching to keto & actually tracking macros. Thanks for pinning all the links at the top!

Check out the links Bus put up (or in the OP) to get started with keto.

It works. Not a fad.

Haha. I'm definitely not on the "fad" train. High fat/low carb makes me feel so much better than just counting calories or whatever. Checking out the links now!

Can verify it works. I've dropped 15 lbs since beginning of lent. Also been still lifting fairly heavy and not doing much cardio. It works.

Good to hear. Like lsu777 said, food just becomes fuel for you. I've been super busy lately but I want to add more links. I may get to it this weekend.

To be fair, whether or not a diet is a fad has no bearing on whether or not you can lose significant weight on it. When someone calls a diet a fad, they typically mean that they think it's not sustainable long-term, as in the rest of your life.

In that context, low carb diets and fasting could be considered a fad in that most people won't sustain it the rest of their life.

That said, I don't really GAF and will do whatever it takes to lose this weight.

when you say you slather your food in butter and oils, do you measure those components?

How are you all determining goal weights? Getting back to a number you've been at in the past? BMI charts? I'm an amazon, so I have no real frame of reference & can't compare myself to other women to be like, "I want to be her size."

Just wondering how you decided on yours.

Personally, I just plucked a number out of air that I thought I'd be happy at. I've been fat my entire life so I have no idea what my happy weight actually is.

That makes sense. I'm kinda basing it on size vs specific weight for now. Getting to X size and reevaluating from there. I have a sorta Sarah Spain thing going on, where I'm not motorized cart bound fat, but I'm definitely OT fat. I've never been thin, so it's hard to imagine really low. I'll deal with that when I get there.

Haha. Well, the thicker Sarah Spain. Not the Cubs shirt Sarah Spain. I'd be happy with that.

I just set an arbitrary number to begin with. I think that first goal was 220. When I reached it, I knew I still had a lot more work to do. As I got down to 197ish or so, I felt like I was getting too thin, and wanted to focus on just transforming the remaining fat and building muscle.

I like my size around 205-210, just want that thickness to not be fat
