insurance pays for mine. All i did was tell my doctor that diabetes runs on one side of my family and I would like to monitor. Insurance was happy i was being preventative.

Can't wait for a hefty serving of chicken and asparagus man. The stuff is just so good. A little Himalayan salt on it. Blessings on blessings.

Wonder if all of the salt I've been using is what's causing my bathroom problems.

I'm pretty hungry this morning so I'm looking forward to some chicken and brussell sprouts for lunch. Then pork tenderloin and roasted broccoli at 3pm

Brussel sprouts eh?

How do you prep yours? I've never cooked them before, but I'd like to swap them out for asparagus next week.

ETA: MY head keeps thinking about food, but my body still feels a little meh from the bathroom situation.

typically I slice them in half and roast them, but when I'm eating a boatload like this I just chunk them whole onto a cookie sheet line with foil, season them, and roast them at 415 for 30 minutes.

What do you use for seasoning? Might whip up a batch tomorrow.

I eat an arse load of brussell sprouts. I do just like hulk said, roast them hole in the oven or I cut them in half and throw them in the cast iron skillet. I just use course salt, fresh ground pepper, minced garlic and onion powder for seasoning. I love asparagus but the brussell sprouts are killer.

I definitely use them more moderately than I used to. They contain carbs, so I count any portion as part of my vegetable for a meal.

Last night's grilled chicken salad also contained grilled mushrooms (1.5 carbs), onions (2.5 carbs), and cherry tomatoes (3.0 carbs). And maybe 2 grams of carbs for the lettuces, but I might be overestimating.

Next time I'll increase the mushrooms and decrease the onions. Life would suck if I did away with them altogether!!!

Slap ya mama and some stir fry seasoning blend that has no sugar, sweeteners, or calories.

I like asparagus a lot but it can be expensive

I get my asparagus already cooked for $6 a pound.
And green beans already cooked for $5 a pound.

Idk how that compares to buying it by the pound at the grocery.

So started back to eating better and being more active and since Jan 1 I've lost 15 pounds....
The main change (besides the two miles daily) has been I cut out beer and replaced it with bourbon. Bourbon is much cheaper as well....
