I don't sell Cutco Knives or anything, but just wanted to let the board know of their customer service and lifetime warranty.

I recently sent in 3 knives and kitchen shears for sharpening under their lifetime sharpening warranty. All of my knives and kitchen shears were replaced with new ones. I have sent in the knives before and received them back sharpened and in great shape.

It was a pretty cool surprise to get brand new knives and shears for the price of shipping to Cutco and back, which came out to $31 since I paid for insurance and signature confirmation on the way there.

I know these knives are costly and most people have them because someone in the family was in college and selling them, but I consider them as a good investment. BTW Cutco only charges $9 for the return shipping on the first 9 items you send back.

I have a few, my wife gives them as gifts to customers, her rep gives us a new one every so often. Not bad stuff, doubt I'd pay full price for them though.

I just take my 2 or 3 Wusthofs that I use heavily in to be professionally sharpened once a year. He charges me $5 a knife.

Do you think they cover broken tips?

I was gift a chef knife for my wedding that I love, but the tip somehow broke off.

Last Cutco thread was so much fun.

Really good knives, great warranty, overpriced.

I was in the car while my wife was at a n estate sale one time and she came out with a Cutco spreader knife that she paid 3 bucks for. I ran in and found 3 more knives - paring, carving, and trimming knives, all for 3 bucks apiece. The rest of the set was gone. The knives still had the cardboard sleeves from the factory in them. I'm not sure if they had ever been used.

I love mine. I've never had to send any back because they're still sharp and in fine shape. I've heard the customer service is great, though.

Some folks I know lost a set of steak knives and other Cutco knives as a result of Katrina. When one of them called Cutco to re-order everything they lost, Cutco sent the replacements and then some, along with the large knife block at no charge. I thought that was pretty darn cool.

We broke the tips off of my mom’s knife growing up- we would stab it into her cutting board for fun When she sent them in, they sent her new knives. Definitely send them in

I’ve got a hunting knife from them that will straight unzip an animal hide.

It will go thru about 10-12 deer before needing to go back.

If you're not careful, they will unzip some human hide! Those knives are sharp.

Yes they will. They will also cut thru an Achilles tendon on a deer (Do deer have Achilles?) on accident.

I thought they would suck but love them. I have bought a dozen for gifts over time.

I had forgotten about CUTCO knives.
I sold them as a summer job while at LSU.
I am now 70.

They were damn good knives...did not like when their design changed.
