Jeremy Davenport live jazz in the Lounge in the Ritz. Women like it. Can be tough to find seats.

This.

Irvin Mayfield(I think it is him) has a jazzclub inside the Royal Sonesta. Nice place.

You can always go to the Montleone and sit at the carousal bar. They recently renovated the whole place and it is much nicer in there.

If she likes the funky and local seen, go down to Frenchman and hear some good music. I love DBA.

caution though.. Frenchman was stupid packed the Thursday before Jazzfest... it's no doubt even worse now.

Good question. Restaurants of this type have probably been booked for weeks.

You should be fine, but have you checked anyway? I've found Bayona, in particular, likes to at least hold themselves out as being always booked up weeks in advance, at least for weekend dinners (they tell you to call and check on "cancellations" which I've been able to do and get in, but I'm just saying here). I'm guessing August is similar.

Check out some late-night Jazz Fest options. Should be a lot of places having bands playing at night. Take her to one of those for a few drinks.

Go to Bacchanal in the Bywater. If it's just the two of you, you shouldn't have trouble getting seats. Great place to hear music, drink some wine, enjoy the good weather, and still be able to carry on a conversation.

Other option would be to go see this show. Should be incredible...

I vote for one of these two. cozy seating and it's not so loud you can't talk.

It's Jazz Fest. I think you can find something to do.

Sat night check out George Porter Jr at the Parish House of Blues
