Drove by a Popeyes earlier and the Popeyes 18 Wheeler was there. The entire trailer was filled with ingredients for the chicken sandwich.

The Spicy Sandwich with Red Beans and a little Mardi Gras Mustard is my favorite but I do love their Mardi Gras Mustard in general

I posted earlier in the thread that I still preferred the CFA spicy sammich...but I'm definitely going to Popeyes today and try that combo. This has game changer potential.

Question:

Are they comparing spicy to spicy?

Because CFA is spicy because of the chicken breast itself and the breading, not any sauce (or mayo in Popeye's case).

As of today, only 4/40 Dallas locations have it; either because they sold out or because the never got it (like the one I visited Sunday )

Not sure but this is from Fox last night:

The Dallas Morning News reported Wednesday evening that just four of the nearly 40 Popeyes locations in North Texas had the chicken sandwiches available.

Is this whole thing unprecedented for a fast food restaurant?

I mean I'm not sure i can answer that, but the one I went to Sunday was closed with water issues, and the second said they never got them in the first place. So perhaps it is partly Popeyes' fault and partly the popularity of the sandwich.

I still dont understand how some locations never got them when they could print money with these sandwiches.

Also, wonder when they raise the price $1.

They vastly underestimated the demand. They gonna have to grow some more chickens.

50% of this country wants to see chicfila fail because they aren't bowing to the altar of the SJW LGTETEOITUOIAXYZ mob and so they're jumping on the bandwagon big time just to 'stick it' to chickfila.

see that dumb new york chick's review for businessweek on like page 15 of this thread for exhibit A.

Bold Prediction: Popeyes works out all the kinks with service, prep, and supply over the next few weeks. Right as hype is slowing down they drop the hammer.

"Introducing the Popeye's Deluxe Chicken Sandwich. Chicken. Brioche. Bacon. Lettuce. Tomato. Swiss Cheese. Pickles. New New. Sandwich. Popeyes. Nationwide. So. Good. Forgot. How. Speak. In. Complete. Sandwiches. I mean, sentences."

$5.99 sandwich, $7.99 combo. Chick-Fil-A, feeling the pressure has no choice but to open on Sundays to recuperate lost revenues.
