I love both, just different. Pumpkin if I want it less sweet and more spicy, sweet potato if I want the opposite.

When I was a kid I LOVED pumpkin pie. A lot of the other kids wouldn't eat theirs at lunch and would give it to me. I ate so much I think I got burned out. Nowadays, I'd probably choose sweet potato.

If I'm making a pie crust and cooking it that way, I prefer Pumpkin. Add whipped cream when slicing and serving. If I'm doing sweet potato, I like to do the casserole with the marshmallows on top with crushed graham crackers as the crust on the bottom.

Prefer sweet potato over pumpkin

i make mine from the leftover halloween pumpkins. boil the seeds in saltwater, then coat in olive oil and tony's and roast 'em on a baking sheet with the pumpkin halves. always turns out great.

Pumpkin and made from fresh pumpkin, seeded peeled, sliced and cooked. That’s the way my Mama did it for her 94 years of life. :)
