Pizza Artista in BR

We got some coupons in the mail and figured we’d give it a try for take out. We shop at Sprouts a ton and thought we’d give a local chain some biz.
Called it in and seamless process to pick up. Price is a little more than LIT for some of the specialty pizzas.
I would say the crust is a bit more doughy than LIT and overall a little less good. Wife got a pretty simple pizza (pepperoni and anchovies) and I got the Swamp Daddy.
Inside is the separator:
- LIT has such shite beer selection and no drinking vibe at all. PA has a self service beer thing kind of like Mid City tap and some of the beers were pretty good (Ghost in Machine, etc).
- pretty cool hand washing station with kids in mind. Never seen anything like it.
- people seemed nice but you can’t really see your pizza being made. The food cover lids are in the way. Seems way less “personal” than LIT for example. Think “Firehouse” vs “subway” in terms of food prep transparency and being able to recycle on the process (e.g., more cheese please).
My pizza was way too busy and salty. And like I said, crust at LIT is a little better. Prices are slightly more expensive.
Anyway, a bit of a ramble and not my best review. Long story short: I’d eat it again while seated if I lived closer (Rouzan) but likely won’t go again.

Went this weekend, just picked up to take home so didn't try the beers or anything. I tried the buffalo chicken calzone and wasn't impressed at all. I don't mind heat at all but it was full of jalapenos that took over so it had no other flavor. My wife said her chicken and mango was decent.
Wanted to try something new but can't justify it when I can 2 meals out of Zeppelin for about 25% less. PA was over $40 for one meal worth for the fam.

Take your awful take back to the OT. You just made this up.

Damn, that's unfortunate. Was hoping BR would get another good pizza joint. At least RZ is always solid.

If you haven't tried it, that Hive Pizza place on Siegen has been a good change of pace for lunch lately. Honey drizzle is sticky, but delicious.

The Boucherie is like a salt bomb explosion, almost inedible.

I don't see that one on the menu.
I've had:
quote:
the Sting
white cream sauce | hot sauce | mozzarella | chicken | bacon | ranch drizzle
quote:
the Worker
red sauce | mozzarella | pepperoni | meatballs | hot honey drizzle
quote:
Hive Five
red sauce | mozzarella | ham | Italian sausage | pepperoni | salami | meatballs

Tried it a couple weeks ago for lunch, so I didn't have any of the beers. The self serve concept seems kind of cool, but gimmicky at the same time.
Thought the crust was a bit more doughy than LIT, but in a good way.
I went with the Artista (basically a supreme) to try a typical pizza before going with one of the more experimental ones. It was enjoyable, but by the time I added a drink and a dipping sauce, the price got a good bit higher than I would have expected.
Will give it another try to try one of the other pizzas, but will be hard to justify making it a regular stop given the price point.

We're talking about two different places.
