Sadly, we are headed to BR for a disc golf extravagaanza. We will be quaffing fancy beers at the Chimes East.

Spirits is closed on weekends, as is the Cottage. I'd do Eddies BBQ or Outlaws. Don't bother with seafood. There's a bazillion chains.

Are you going to Johnny Downs to play softball/baseball?

How is the food at the casino. Haven't been yet. Had some tell me today that you could get a burger and fries for $1.99 at the sports bar in there?

I was there yesterday to take a potential client to lunch. He picked Verona's and I thought it was pretty good!

I spent a few days there earlier in the year and Popeyes was the best meal that I had.

Was there for work recently, and some coworkers swore by some place with awesome burgers and garlic potatoes. That shite was awful.

My real response is something like what jibbajabba said, I guess. Tunk's is absolutely hot garbage.

Robbie G's used to be money back in the day, but if I'm doing it Fant's is now the better bet. Fried or boiled, don't expect anything fancy, but it's good for what it is.

Spirits is pretty solid.

I'd pretty much take a pass on any Mexican.

BJ's > Johnny's for pizza. FLAME ON FLAMERS

It has been years since I did Suburban Gardens (Italian), but it wasn't bad back in the day. It could have gone to crap, though. I feel like it's probably solid.

Outlaw's is a total guilty pleasure of mine. I know I've had "better" BBQ but the whole nostalgia factor makes me defend Outlaws forever. The Chopped Baker or about 3 chopped sandwiches and an onion loaf.

I'd put the Oriental Wok in that same category. There's certainly better, but definitely not in the area. The sushi bar is not bad either, but I hear Mikado is the new "it" place for that sort of thing.

I just cant get behind outlaws. It just tastes so generic. The best part of that place is the fries dipped in the spicy bbq sauce. Dont get me wrong. I dont think it is dogfood. I will certainly eat it but i dont ever get "hankerings" for outlaws.

I didnt mention in my First post but I do like oriental wok. It is cliche here in Alexandria but the Tiny Spicy Shrimp is money.

Yeah. I stand by solid, which doesn't mean great. Just...solid. But there aren't really a ton of Italian options. I guess there's Johnny Carino's. is Bellino's still open? We were never allowed to eat there

After reading this board for a while, I'm convinced many of you have no idea what garbage is.

In rough order by price:

Bistro on the Bayou
Diamond Grill(last two trips there were outstanding)
Janohn's(Boyce)
Bellinos(stick to either white sauce Italian or a filet)
Verona

Mexican is good at Los Portalos and decent at El Reparo. Sombreros is ok.

Robbie G's has good food, but the set up can suck. Hate the community tables.

I like Tunks.

Our Outback is better than most.

Do not like Anchor's fish. No idea on anything else they have.

Oriental Wok is great Chinese, and they have good sushi. Saki-Sushi is great.

Fresh Catch is a decent hole in the wall type seafood place. Love the catfish and the alligator poboy. Heard the buffalo ribs were good.
