Is that available in Shreveport or Bossier City?

I got it at Albertson's in Bossier City...Texas at Airline. Haven't seen it any where else yet.

My go to. Always had this growing up but never could find it down here in South Louisiana until I noticed it a couple of months ago at Calandros.

Except I don't get the mild. I get the hot.

I like the Mateos made with Hatch chilies, they're all available at Calandro's perkins

Mateos is made in frisco tx. It's a husband and wife that quit their jobs to make salsa

It's good stuff. They now make margarita mix and other sauces. It's blown up

Albertsons used to carry Alberts. It was in the refrigerated section and in glass. Not sure now. Made in Kilgore, Texas. Good stuff.

My wife got a jar of this a couple weeks ago. Pretty good. We normally get a couple dozen jars of authentic mexican homemade whenever we visit her family in west Texas and this is the closest we've found to that.

Wow this takes me back. Used to eat a jar of this a week as a kid. My parents always had it in the house. Haven't had any in years though.

I'll have to try that out, but I still like the homemade stuff - can't ever get it hot enough from the stores. There's a lady that sells her super hot habanero salsa at the Shreveport farmers market when that starts back up in a couple months - I usually load up.

Also, the wife and I made our own tortilla chips lsat night and they came out great. Better for you than the store bought kind.

We bought a pack of corn tortillas, brushed each side with a very light coat of olive oil, cut them into slices (6 per tortilla), cracked sea salt on top, put in a 350 oven for about 15 minutes - they were fantastic

Thanks, Zach. I will pick some up next time I'm in Albertsons.

Have you tried Xochitl salsa? You can usually find it at World Market on Youree. It's pretty good too.

What is World Market? I used to live in University Terrace on Youree 15 years ago. I'm going to Fant's barber shop and museum Friday morning for my monthly hair cut. Will look for World Market along with my usual side trip to Julienne's Bakery for Lucy's Petit Fours and two pounds of Andouille at Maxwell's on Line Ave.

What do you think about the dog park law suit?

World Market is sort of like Pier One Imports but also carries some food, beer and wine that are hard to find in SHV/BO. It is on the corner of Youree and East 70th behind the new Panera Bread.

World Market

Also, if you have trouble finding Andouille at Maxwells, they probably have it also at Bergeron's which opened up a year or two behind LSUS on East Kings. It is a satellite from the Port Allen location and has some specialty meats that is hard to find up here. May not quite be up to the standards of Acadiana though but, up here, I take what I can get.

Bergeron's Shreveport

Cheers!

Haven't followed it too closely but it would be nice to take my little hound to hang out there on a nice afternoon. You would think with the number of interested dog owners in the area, the funds could be raised.
