I have the PitBoss Lexington now. I have enjoyed it but i have had some trouble with it. I have had to replace the control panel twice and a few other things. looking to upgrade to something a little bigger and would like to keep the price 1000 and down. TIA

If I had to do it again, I think I'd go with one of the new Camp Chef Woodwinds. It has a slide out for wood chunks so you can burn real wood to increase smoke flavor. If you want something to last forever, Yoder's are great, I've had mine for 8 years. No issues but they are a little over your budget of $1k. 99% on this board will tell you to get a RecTeq

RecTeq

Got one for Christmas and have had a great time using it. It’s my first non-stick burner/charcoal pit so I can’t really compare it to anything else.

I have the Woodwind36 and it's been everything I could want. Gives great flavor, easy to clean, easy to control, connects to wifi so you can control it from anywhere. It's held up well too.

im not a reqtec fanboy, I was given one & for what you pay for them, theyre not that great....
Nothing wrong with a Pitboss pro series, I have a 1100 series.
Yes it was 4 years go when I bought it, but was no more than $500, assembled & delivered included, purchased at Lowes
Zero problems so far,
I feel construction is better than Traeger, & youre not paying an arm & a leg for the Traeger brand name.....

Genuine curiosity here, but what did you not like about it?

I had a Green Mountain Grill for five years and rebuilt that thing every time I used it. It was a good grill until it wasn't but I wouldn't recommend them to anyone.

The wife bought me a Recteq Bullseye last week and I have used it once. The first cook had huge temp swings, SP 275 the temp ran to 380 then dropped to 120.

I am smoking some salmon today so I will report back if those temp swings were a one time thing.

That is wild swings.
I ended up grabbing the 590 during covid.
I use it a lot.
I have the app that tracks the temp and I have hooked up my Thermoworks probes to check for accuracy and it always stays consistent.
I wonder if the supplier for the temp control unit has changed.
They do have very good customer service.

I myself am considering a Zgrills pellet cooker with new WiFi controls or CAMPCHEF Woodfire.

If money was not an issue I would definitely go with Lonestar Grillz pellet grill or the Gator Pits hybrid Pellet Offset cabinet smoker.

I've had a Recteq Bullseye for 3 years and I use it multiple times a week. I love it. Mine holds temperature incredibly well.
