Treager or go home. The original and you can find parts to fix it (everything breaks given enough time). If you want an awesome long-term grill.

Pellets don't make a damn bit of difference. I buy Pit Boss pellets because they are usually the cheapest and easy to find. But would not touch the grills with a ten-foot pole. They do the job but not built for the long run.

Camp Chef Woodwind Pro with a sidekick griddle. You can cook low and slow to smoke and then sear steaks or anything up at 550F or higher on griddle. Also has a smoke box to blend different woods while smoking with your pellets.

I have a drum smoker and an Ironwood Traeger. Most of the time I use the Traeger. It’s set and forget, about as easy as they come. For grilling I still like a good sear so I smoke on the traeger then toss on my gas grill for a min or two. The Pit Boss has a slide and sear function where you can cook over a direct flame. My buddy has one and it does a really good job.

I picked up this Pit Boss pellet grill and griddle combo, best of both worlds...

I smoked pork butts and briskets and have done smash burgers, steaks and fried rice on the griddle...

Love it...

I prefer using propane and propane accessories. Fast and easy.

I recently sold my 9 year old Yoder and bought a Searwood, night and day difference on he smoke flavor. The Searwood constantly pumps smoke out vs cycled on the Yoder. We use it 3-4 days a week, puts great food out. Definitely worth the money!

I have 2, one here at home and one at the deer camp. The Blazin Grill I have here at home does very well for long cooks and like others have said a smoke tube does help, it controls temp very well and will never vary from set point more than 5 degrees.

The Pit Boss I have at the camp is good for steaks and burgers because it has a way to sear everything with the movable grate. It also controls temp well but not like the Blazin.

If I were to buy one now I would seriously consider the Lone Star Grillz, they look really nice and even though they are pricey I think they are worth the difference.

I bought a recteq. Although I use it only for smoking, I love it. I've done 4 hours smokes (Ribs), Butts for 12 hours (easiest thing I've ever done)....so with that, it gets my highest recommendation.

You need to try the Smokin' Pecan pellets.

I've had my eye on a Weber Searwood 600.

Traeger Ironwood 650 TFB65BLE is the highest rated one on Consumer Reports.

From what I understand, it depends on what you want to do with it. Grill, smoke, sear?

I saw the pellet/gas griddle combo at Academy last week and it caught my attention...

My last pit boss lasted about 6 years before it basically fell apart on the interior. Wonder if the materials have improved any over the years?

Just got a master built charcoal gravity smoker and love it. More versatile than my other smoker and Weber grill. You can slow smoke and not have to adjust anything and get good charcoal flavor. You can also just turn up the heat and grill pork chops or burgers in no time flat. Faster and easier than traditional Weber kettle grill.

I have the most basic Z-Grill. It's going on 6 years old. The only issue is the diffuser plate has a hole it from rusting through. Partially my fault for not cleaning it good enough, often enough.

My next pellet grill will be a Rec Teq Bullseye.
