Instead of mayo in the sandwich, put mayo or butter on the out side of the bread and cook it in the pan like you would french toast or grilled cheese.

Sounds like something my cousin's kid would eat. He's been known to ask for things like a peanut butter & pickle sandwich, broccoli with marshmallows, etc. for dinner.

peanut butter n miracle whip was the go to for my cousins growing up in east texas.

I'm down with peanut butter and banana, or as some call it "The Elvis Presley Special" since it was one of his go-to snacks.

But mayo,,,,,,, no way in hell is that going on that sandwich.

I grew up eating these. My dad was a big peanut butter and mayo fan. Nothing better than saltines with PB and mayo on it. Love the combo.
