LL, you don't know shite about location.

but I don't think it would be any better than before.

The parking would be better for one. There isn't a good poboy/fried seafood spot in that area. Especially one of Dempsey's caliber.

And that would be just fine...

It didn't shut down for a lack of business; there were a myriad of issues (parking, building, etc.) that led to the decision.

If that place could do as well as the Jefferson location did, I think there would be some real interest.

This was my only issue with the Dempsey's location. Food and service were great. But, if you didn't get there at 11am you could be out of luck until 1pm or so.

Business Report says Don Bergeron has bought out the lease.

It's a catering company, but I believe they do lunches as well.

To be honest, I've never been there even though I've known of it for the longest time.

I keep meaning to stop in there and look around. A friend of mine says she picks up apps from time to time from his freezer/fridge. Looks like he has things to go at the ready.

He has a counter when you walk in with several hot entrees and sides. He also has frozen and refrigerated items to go. He has his catering business in the back and uses the kitchen to make the front of the house stuff. It's pick up only. He does a good job and makes great soups - for when it gets cold. I stop in a good bit.

If he moves the catering portion to the Pat's kitchen he should do well because he's a very in demand caterer which would ease the burden of packing the restaurant all the time. Hope he does well and if anyone can in that location I believe it will be him. I just believe the building hasn't had the right person there yet.

didn't seem to struggle in that area, just seemed limited by an awful lot.

I just don't see much in the way of night business at this spot on Jefferson, its just in a weird area that you'd think would be more happening. Its almost like a dead zone in the middle of 2 more active areas.

I don't know what this restaurant will be, but people tend to do what they know. Based on what I read at Chef Don's website and his background, this won't be a full-service restaurant, which is fine. My guess is it will be the same thing he is doing now, only larger, and with dine in. In others words, I'm predicting a mini Piccadilly minus a waitstaff.

I can dig it. Sounds like a winner. Ready-made meals to go or dine in. I've been meaning to try his current place out but haven't gotten around to it.
