I'm not saying they don't make reasonably priced stuff...they absolutely do... That just doesn't make this release nay less ridiculous. This release is what my comment was referring to, not the brewery as a whole

Prairie Ales puts out 12oz bottles for $14/bottle. I don’t flinch cause their shite is good.
I would rather this TBH. I really just want a taste of these beers anyway, I'm not looking to drink 750mL in a sitting. It basically has to be shared at that point... Give me a 12oz and cut the price in half, and I would probably buy one if I saw it on shelves.

what an odd thing to be put off by. They only get it cause people like the posters here are dum...I mean enthusiastic enough to pay so much for it. While I see your point, I don't think I could ever fault someone for making as much profit as they can in business. given its ethical and in the confines of the law.
To each his own.
Think of it as "art." This thing is listed at $406,250. Now, it probably didn't cost the artist too much to make, nor did it require that much skill and effort to justify the absurdity of its costs. It's fricking squares and rectangles, and it costs more than the majority of American's homes.
That said, should someone buy it, great for the artist. I'm just not going to be that sucker buying it - nor a $35 bottle of beer.

I want you to sell me that beer at a loss, because I've been drinking other beer from you for years, so I'm entitled.
Pretty sure they could sell the beer for much cheaper than $1.37/oz. and still make a great profit.
This is the absurdity of Parish that i find ridiculous. By all means, let the suckers line up out the doors for this one. Just remember, the more people buy overpriced beer from Parish, the more Parish will markup their beer.

I agree. Back to my post on the first page:

...considering how much profit they are making off a product that didn't cost them that much to make, is somewhat off-putting.
For example, I tend to automatically shy away from local beers (I understand the rise in cost if they are an out-of-state brewery that's being packaged and shipped in, or a collaborations) that are selling me 4-packs at $18 (much less a $35 bottle of beer).
In my opinion, it's kind of a f.u. to your local community, the ones that want to support you. I'll just opt for the $10 6-pack instead. Just my two cents.
Parish, well, they are making their money while they can. Try rolling out a $38 bottle of beer with a recession.

The lafayette area (where parish is) has more or less been in a recession the last 4 years or so

Ah, I love the smell of capitalism in the morning.

I like craft beer and have been a homebrewer for a decade, but even I get sticker shocked every now and then. Last time it happened was at Urban South when a case of beer cost over $100.
