Finally got around to grabbing a growler of Parish's Ghost in the Machine double IPA.
The hop burst and nose on the beer have diminished quite heavily if you're just trying it now. If you think it's that good at this time, make sure to grab it next time when it's fresh. I had it the first day it was on tap at the brewery and it was fan-freakin'-tastic. The next time I had it was out of the bottle about 2 weeks later and already the nose had faded a little. Get it as fresh as possible and you will be blown away.

I wouldn't say envie is a weak beer. Stronger of the parish offerings imo

They selling growlers of a 3 month old beer that can't possibly be remotely the same as it was 3 months ago?

Parish is the best brewery Louisiana currently has in my opinion. Their entire line is good although I'll admit I can't don't like Canebrake until it warms a bit. I think they have a lot of momentum because they're getting consistently better. I think the Envie was better than Canebrake and the Amber was the best to date in terms of main line beers. The bomber series have been creative and fun. They get all the love because they get craft beer and therefore the hearts and minds of Louisiana's craft beer enthusiasts.

no idea because I have no frame of reference...all I can say is that it was very good, fully carbonated, tasted like a top notch DIPA should taste.

I'm visiting BR this weekend. Does Parish or any other LA brewery have anything good out right now? Especially any big bottle releases.
