Because some shitty magazine pandering to advertisers reflects the opinion of an entire city.

Crime, poor public education, corrupt government, traffic, and pizza options. Not necessarily in that order.

Don't they have it divided into "Traditional Pizza" and "Gourmet Pizza" categories? I'm not exactly sure how they determine the difference, but Papa John's won over Pizza Hut & Johnny's.

It seems like more polarizing would be the winner of the Gourmet Pizza title, which was Fleur-de-Lis. It beat Lit Pizza & Red Zeppelin.

The people voted. We're they only given a choice between Papa John's, Pizza Hut and Johnny's?

I don't really consider Fleur-de-lis 'gourmet'. I do love it though.

Best pizza I've had in Baton Rouge is at magpie Cafe.

Anytime these little magazines or crap does a public vote, the crappy places always win.
The general public doesn't care about good food.

Nothing wrong with a hot slice of pepperoni and then dipping the crust in that nectar of the gods

Only bad thing about Grimaldi's is the price. The pizzas are expensive to begin with, and they charge extra for everything, including extra sauce.

You get what you pay for. Pizza Delicious is the best in NOLA, and it is also expensive.

If you are looking for 2 medium pies for $6.99, Papa John's is the right call

The traditional category was basically all of the chain pizza places plus johnny's.

The gourmet category had Lit, Fleur de lis, Pastime, Red Zeppelin, Mellow, etc.

This board hates it, but a lot of people really love Fleur de lis, and they've been around forever. It's good pizza with a unique style. Lit is new on the scene, and almost won best new restaurant. They'll be a contender for best gourmet pizza next year and for many years to come.

After reading about Lit on the board, I tried it. Think Moe's or Chipolte, but pizza.Good toppings, but crust, cheese, and sauce were all mediocre.

A knockoff sub $10 pizza place almost won best new restaurant in Baton Rouge?

Baton Rouge is really looking up in the culinary scene.
