It was a light year, and one of the most acclaimed new restaurants closed really quickly, eliminating it from consideration. There's a lot of new restaurants opening up this year (plus several that started up right after the end of the nomination period) and there had been a lot of new restaurants the year before.

bullshite. I ate at Mister O-1 and Antico, both of which I found to superior to Lucali.

Best pizza in town is probably Magpie, followed by Red Zeppelin, then Reginelli's.
Fleur de Lis and Lit are good for bringing your small children after a baseball game, but nothing more.
I'm hoping beyond hope that Rocca raises the bar here soon.

All of that is paid advertising and publicity
Where I live they literally just listed an Italian place that had been open two months as best Italian in the city. Lol

Antico and Mister O1 are both in Miami Beach, not South Beach. Antico's margherita pie costs $20. Mister 01's are $9.90 for a 13". They don't serve full pies.

Fleur de Lis isn't pizza, it's Roman Pie and it's delicious.
