Hadn't seen it reported, but drove by yesterday, and all the lights were off at 6 p.m. on a Saturday evening.

Checked this morning, and it looks like the restaurant has closed its doors for good.

Tough location -- parking is not the best, and the times that I drove by, I didn't see many people sitting outside (or inside).

Well that sucks. We really liked that place but it has been slower than usual the last few times we've been there.

I only went twice. I enjoyed it both times I went, but I did find that the items I had ordered were very small(er) considering the price that I paid.

To me, it was one of those forgotten places --- and I think it had something to do with the red light, limited visibility if driving by quickly, and the parking.

I drove by a couple weeks ago and no activity. Didn’t hear anything either about it closing.

Disappointing. I really liked their food.

This was my only negative comment on the place as well. It is the perfect amount of food for me, but I can't imagine taller grown men are getting their fill from some of those dishes. My husband likes the shrimp dishes, but always jokes that he should order a side of pasta with it to mix in.

Some of these recent restaurant closures in BR and NOLA are surprising.

Wasn’t Palermo open for at least 10 years?

Restaurant owners say the toughest part of a new restaurant is the first 3-5 years.

This restaurant survived the pandemic and was in a very busy part of town. Are they relocating or shutting down for good?

Terrible time to be in restaurant business

If food prices don’t come down a lot of places will be struggling

You’re right but the saying has always been people have to eat something and groceries aren’t cheap either. Really makes you wonder what restaurants are going to be around 3-5 years from now.

Interesting. I hope that is true. I don't like seeing small businesses fail.

They were part of Wayne Stabiler's group. Hardly a small business.

I know! The flavor is there, but I never understood why they couldn’t double or even triple the cheapest part of the dish.. pasta.

Didn’t he give all the restaurants away to managers except for Palermo, to spend more time with family? Maybe he’s just ready to be done with it all.

Yeah, it's been a while. They have the Jones Creek one, but they stated they wanted to focus on catering.

I have a soft spot for DiGiulio's, but I agree.

I've recently found a somewhat obscure (for me, at least) dish on the menu I really like, but otherwise their spaghetti, lasagna, etc. just doesn't compare to say Gino's.
