do you ever post your own recs or are you just restaurant police on other people's recs?

You might want to reconsider, at some point, the use of this cliche as an insult. NOLA needs all the love she can get right now.

Whatever. The guy was being a prick and a dumbass. I made a negative comment.
Make up your mind if your are going to be a troll or not. It's hard to keep up as much as you bounce back and forth

Excuse me? Could you provide me with an example of being back and forth?

Just curious, what is the board's apparent issue with Rue 127? I have personally never had a bad meal there and enjoy the setting. Service suspect a couple of times but food consistently very good.

I can't figure out what this thread is about.

Is Blue Oak and Pizza Delicious overlooked in any way?

I mentioned Apolline and Rue 127 because (1) each can easily be "overlooked" in terms of location (Apolline in a not-so-popular stretch of Magazine; Rue 127 so small it's easy to miss unless you're seeking it out); and (2) as I originally posted, I don't think either place gets enough publicity or fanfare relative to the quality of restaurant.

OP perhaps should have defined "overlooked" because, you're right, the thread and responses have been all over the place.

I pass Apolline all the time and still overlook it. Lilette as well, to a lesser extent.

Ive only been there once, but I was underwhelmed. The food was good (not great), but the service was not very good at all. Waiter was friendly, but incredibly awkward and didn't really seem to know the menu well. I would give it another chance, but it's hard to go back when there are so many other great restaurants in the city.

***Disclaimer*** Take this with a grain of salt, since it has been brought to my attention that an individuals number of posts on the F&D board is the ultimate gauge of credibility in regards to restaurant opinions in New Orleans. I have contacted several reputable food critics to encourage posting on the board to enhance their credibility.

I'm around too many Bywater Hipsters I guess. Consistently called the best pizza in the city by almost every non-biased rabking. They usually hook me up every couple weeks for lunch.

I don't think Red's is overlooked and I'm not sure it should make this list.

In a city with a mediocre Mexican scene, Taquiera Guerrero on N Carrolton is the best i've had.

Drinks at Bouligny Tavern followed by dinner at Lilette is hard to beat.
