head down to LP and bring him to Val's. Get the sampler. You're welcome.

Val's has some of the best seafood you can get. If he wants quality food... Go here. If he wants atmosphere go to Mansurs. Never been to Roberto's but it's on my list. Mike Andersons is not "that" bad,.. Although it's been on the decline the last few times I've been there. You also have Pat's in Henderson. Or Blue Dog in Lafayette

If this board is so anti-Boutins, how can Ralph and Kacoos even be mentioned? (I'm talking current R&K, not the original)

The only one I'm familiar with is the one in Bossier. I went to the R & K in BR when I was a kid.

I like it. The food is good. This board is so weird.

I remember going to R&K's as a kid and it was awesome. Been a couple time in the last five years and I'll be surprised if Red Lobster doesn't put them out of business.

It's just not that good, edible, but not good.

Ive only been two or three times few years ago.. Seafood platter was better than anything I've gotten in BR. All fried in different batter and different oil. I can't stand a place that fries their shite in the same oil as everything else

Eta: I'm EXTREMELY picky with my seafood and I liked the place. Must have hit it on a couple good nights

And on those times you were there, you got lucky and it was spot on. But these days, thats kinda the exception to the rule.

Thats a damn shame. I really liked the food and atmosphere. I always say, if you want seafood done right, ya gotta do it yourself. It's a shame we don't have a blow you away type of seafood restaurant in the area... Never consistent. Vals is the only place that has "tasted the same for 30 years" as my dad would say....
I always order a seafood platter when trying out a new restaurant... You can tell as soon as they bring it out to you if you'll ever be back or not.. Really saddens me ab Blue Dog

Have you tried Charlie's in Springfield? That place does it right. It's not fancy by any means but the food is good...the portions are huge...and the price is right.

Never been there or even heard of it... I'm usually going to Middendorfs if I'm in that area. I know some friends from there... Might go try it one day
