Yeah, Roberto's sounds like a good idea. I have only been once. But, great drive down river road. That will be fun, more relaxed atmosphere.

I've never been to Roberto's, but it's usually highly touted when it gets brought up on the F&D and the menu doesn't look all that different from Lagniappe's.

Alot quicker to go down Nicholson and turn right at the first light past university club (Bayou Paul Rd.) Hit river rd and head about half a mile upriver.

Both places get their fair share of love and hate. I've never been to Lagniappe so can't compare. In laws are from Sunshine so we hit Roberto's up alot.

If he wants "legit" Louisiana food, I'd try to find some hole in the wall places in some of the Acadiana parishes.
