Problem with LA Lagniappe is that he is from Destin where there is a location.
I was thinking about the same thing.
ETA: Glad someone mentioned Robertos because it was my next suggestion.

Yeah, Roberto's sounds like a good idea. I have only been once. But, great drive down river road. That will be fun, more relaxed atmosphere.

I've never been to Roberto's, but it's usually highly touted when it gets brought up on the F&D and the menu doesn't look all that different from Lagniappe's.

meet him in NOLA and eat there. BR food sucks

Alot quicker to go down Nicholson and turn right at the first light past university club (Bayou Paul Rd.) Hit river rd and head about half a mile upriver.

Both places get their fair share of love and hate. I've never been to Lagniappe so can't compare. In laws are from Sunshine so we hit Roberto's up alot.

head down to LP and bring him to Val's. Get the sampler. You're welcome.

This. If he wants legit then screw Parrains.
Go to Mansur's and get oysters every way and the damned duck or something. Redfish.....

If he wants "legit" Louisiana food, I'd try to find some hole in the wall places in some of the Acadiana parishes.

I already said Poche's (the real poche's), but it looks like he doesn't want to travel too far.

Ronnie's is a sit down resturant..
Might want to clean the bench before you do

So "semi legit" works.
