Has anyone ever ordered bison/elk meat online? Want to give it a try. Was thinking of buying a rib roast and some burger meat.

Looking for a reputable online shop. Any advice is appreciated.

TIA

Quality here is really good. Fee shipping if you stock up.

I've tried a bunch of it and it's all been really good though not cheap. It's lean so don't cook it like grocery store beef.

I can't believe they process armadillo, much less the price they are charging for it.

A processed 6-7 lb. armadillo is $359.99

One lb. armadillo meat is $69.99

The shell for $99.99

One tail for $49.99

One pair of armadillo testicles for $49.99

That's insanity..............

Some of their stuff is stupidly overpriced but not all of it. I have yet to order armadillo from there

Do you have a Costco membership? They have ground Bison that I get from time to time.

Yea it's about $8 a pound or so I think. They sell 2 20 oz packs for like $18 or 19

Well, considering how plentiful they are in La. it wouldn't be hard to harvest a few to give the meat a try.

Hell, for the price of a whole armadillo you could buy a real nice .22 with a scope, a few boxes of ammo and have a field day plinking the little tunnel rats.

Not sure if you know this, but armadillos and humans share the same strain of leprosy. That alone would make me very hesitant to kill them, process them and eat their meat.

I’m wondering if their armadillos are farm raised though and if that would make a difference

I’ve had their elk, axis, kangaroo and ostrich egg

I bought some Bison today for $8.99/lb ($2 off) at Publix, so ground Bison is available at regular grocery stores.

The best-tasting meat I've tasted was water buffalo in Thailand when I was in the Air Force in the early '70s. They had water buffalo steaks, skewered chunks, and hamburgers. It was very tender and delicious. I wish I could find someplace in the States where I could order some.

I have bought a lot of meat from:
Beck and Bulow SF

They have a lot of product, the tomahawk bison ribeyes are excellent. If you get the ground elk try putting a slice of gouda between 2 patties and smoke/grill it, fantastic.
