Only the second batch ever brewed, not sure why it's not being distributed this go around unless they only brewed so much.......

If you compare it to bombers of higher quality ipa's from around the country, it isn't that badly priced. $8-$10 for bombers are charged for a lot of higher quality bombers. If you break it down to the ounce, opus would be $5.50 a bomber ($12/48 x 22oz). That's not bad imo.

Not that I've seen, just a Twitter and Facebook post of a brewery only release Saturday, they should distribute IMO

That's not the greatest comparison. Bombers are expensive all of the time compared to 4 and 6 packs. Even the same beer is more expensive in Bombers

It's still a comparison on cost regardless of what bottle it is in. It's not like opus is the most expensive beer out there. Personally I would rather pay more for 12 oz bottles for the convenience of not having to drink a whole bomber at a time. Its all in perception and whether you think it is worth it. For me, it's local and probably the best single ipa we have in this area.

This is brewery only also, however is a 60 barrel batch. The first was a 120 barrel I believe.

word. i like having 12 ounce bottles over the bomber also. $18 for a 6 pack is ridiculous though. i guess why not make the price that when you have people that will buy it

Because they can.
If you made a product that you could sell to a distributor for $5, which barely covered your costs to produce or sell that same product for $12 directly to the public which means a much bigger margin, allowing you to reinvest into your business, which would you do?
