Get some Chinese at OMI. Look at the specials board to the right when you walk in the first door.

Check out the daily lunch special at Olive & Twist, located off Perkins Road near I-10. About 4 to 5 minutes away from I-10.

Yeah if he wants to spend and hour and a half driving there and back on Essen.

That's a pretty loose interpretation of "just off I10." Food is good though.

It's just maybe a mile north of I10. Easy on and off and very little traffic unless you get caught on the bridge after.

Parrain's is right off I10.

Well, it's not even a mile from the exit and a straight easy shot. I think that's pretty close.

After that, I'd head to the old bridge and cross there rather than sitting on the big bridge.

This. Get off at Perkins exit and hang a right. Kalurah Street Grill and City Pork deli are other good options all within walking distance of each other.

Beats sitting in traffic. I haven't gone across that big bridge to get into BR in some years unless it's moving at a regular pace. Too easy to go the other way. I go up Airline to Old Hammond Hwy to Corporate, maybe stop in Calvin's for some chicken salad, head to Essen and get on I-10 at Essen. It moves.

I'll cross it leaving BR, but not coming in unless I KNOW the traffic is moving regularly.
