Update . . . just because I know the entire board has been waiting for the report.

Did, in fact, go to Mr. Ed's last night. Not as good as, imo, Bozo's but was very similar to what it was before.

Good onion rings. I had the softshell crab with crabmeat and butter sauce. It was decent, but it didn't seem like it was fried to order. Could be wrong, though.

The bicycle ride out there wasn't really that bad, but it was sort of tough on the way home.

Not the best time of the year for tasty oysters.

You should avoid heavy, fried foods at your age when a long ride is required...

Watch out for Mr. Ed. He eats like a horse.

Bozo's really fell off there towards the end. Ed not only bought the restaurant but also the oyster beds. He didn't change some things and kept them the way they Bozo did them. For instance the cornmeal batter. The oyster bar is completely different than the Mr. Ed's in Bucktown and Kenner brah.

For the record there is one in the FQ too. You didn't need to pedal all the way out to Metairie.

Bozo's really kind of sucked towards the end.

We ate at the one in the quarter last week. Group of 18. Food was marginal and the wait staff was sketchie. Pretty sure she double billed several of us. Would NOT send any of my friends that direction.

I have not been to this location since they took over from Bozo's, but I have been to Mr. Ed's other restaurants and have always liked them. I can't imagine why this one would be anything less than good.

I went once about 6 months ago. Liked it. Fried seafood tasted like it's supposed to.

Terrible spot to eat w 18 people. That's probably half the compacity of that small place
