Did you erase this in the other thread? Or did you derail both?

Not sure what you mean. I haven't erased anything.

Then I made a simple comment about not liking chips as a side and he goes into defensive mode. What's funny and ironic is that he derails as many threads as anyone with his sarcastic and derogatory comments.

I've had the pleasure of sharing a few beers with OBrah IRL. I can tell you that it's no e-persona front that he is putting on here. That's how he is IRL. Granted he could reserve his comments sometimes given the reaction they get.

I'm thinkin of all my go to sandwhich places for lunch and can't think of any place that serves them with anything much less chips. Milk Bar, po boy joints, etc don't give you anything with their sandwiches. Sure you could buy chips and like I mention earlier Wayfare serves chips with their sandwiches. If you knew anything about the lunch and dinner scence in Harahan and the set up of Oak Oven you would understand why serving chips with a $9 sandwich at lunch is a smart move.

I can tell by your post you don't know much about the food scence here besides what you read on this board. For me that makes your derailing comments worse than OBrahs. He at least can form his opinion based off of his current experiences in the area. For outsiders coming to visit this board can be a great tool. But in the case of a thread like this one a visitor might not go to a good restaurant because some troll with no knowledge of the area turn the thread into a train wreck. Now before you respond with lunchbox's Barcadia thread that got off topic let me tell you there is a difference. Obrah trashed the place with his usual comments but they weren't some crap he was just blabbing about for the sake of trolling. He has a very valid point. If I were a visitor to the area I wouldn't want to waste a meal at Barcadia.

This place is full of characters with opinions. You just have to pick and choose the ones you trust. People who start things like Red Lobster threads and the like bring nothing to the board IMO.

I'd enjoy that pleasure as well.

chips

My comment about chips was an innocent observation and in no way a criticism of the lunch or the pictures. And certainly not a comment on the lunch scene in NOLA. I don't think it merited the tired, yet somehow inevitable, Applebees comment.

Fair enough. My comment about the chips was not a derailing comment. Others I can and will admit to and will try to think a bit more before commenting to certain people and in certain topics.

On the other hand, some of his (and others-it's not personal) are much more derailing because they are so inflammatory. I know he and lunchbx don't get along at all. His comments about Barcadia were not trashing Barcadia. They were trashing someone's lunch and pictures. It was completely and purposefully derailing.

I agree. I would trust O's opinions.

Thanks for entering the fray. I definitely respect your opinion and enjoy interacting with you. I will take your comments to heart. Or at least try to.

Sort of. Mine are so obvious that anyone that is actually "caught" is an idiot.

That's my point. Just because I share an opinion that Mastisyeezy apparently doesn't agree with, that somehow makes me a troll?

The only thing I did in this thread was a free with several other posters that Obrah would have complained if someone one else posted those pics, then he got all defensive. And somehow I'm a troll for that.

I don't consider you a troll box. You just have lover quarrels with other posters.

So did mine.

Did you have any doughy bites? That was my one complaint.

I counted 12 tables. They won't be pumping out the lunch crowd at a Kim Ahn's pace.

Bump for update.

Went again today. Place is still packed, actually saw a few people go elsewhere.

They need to work on their speed and communication with customers. Not a big deal but it will help.

Still no to-go orders as they are overwelmed.

Pizza update- they have the crust issue solved. No doughy spots at all. Pizza was a beast. Pic coming.
Sorry, pic is terrible. Had some lighting issues.

They appear to have solved the crust issue in one week. It could have possibly been a one time issue. Crust is on point now.

They turned around 100 people the other night. Just not enough time in the night to feed them all.

Shouldnt have bumped this crap thread.

Wise, not looking to relive most of this thread, just wanted to show an update.

It's absolutely delicious. The pork and sausage are perfect.

Also, didn't try the pasta but it looks great. Boss ordered a roasted pork with pappardelle. Clearly a nice long braise on the pork. Homemade pasta. Looked out of sight.

They actually ran out of food last Saturday. I rode by and they were shut down at 7pm.

Also, I've called in and picked up orders twice during dinner time fwiw.

The new pick looks good. Can't eat there for a few months but I will hit them up when the office weight loss contest is over.
