Non-traditional seasoning for steaks

I enjoy a great, traditional (kosher salt and fresh cracked black pepper) steak just as much as anyone else. But every once in a while, I like to do something different with seasonings.
Thought I'd share (taken from Food & Wine Magazine).
Seasonings work great on a large Porterhouse or T-Bone (at least 1.5 inches thick, preferably 2 inches thick).
Spice-Rubbed T-Bone Steaks
2 tsp ancho chile powder
1 1/2 tsp ground cumin
1 tsp hot paprika
1 tsp garlic powder
kosher salt and cracked pepper
Steaks at room temperature.
Grill over moderate heat for 7 to 8 minutes, per side for medium rare. Transfer to work surface and let rest for 5 minutes before carving in.
I truly love the flavor and often get compliments when I cook steaks "differently."

Looks good. I'm all about keeping it simple with salt and pepper, but I definitely like to mix it up every now and then.

Sometimes after salt and pepper I hit it with I little espresso powder.

Every now and then I'll lightly salt and pepper and grill. Then add some truffle oil over the steak before serving.
Also love truffle oil on popcorn.

Google Bobby Flay's jerk marinade for ribeyes.

Shake granulated garlic on about fifteen minutes prior to grill. Place on grill garlic side up for four minutes. Close lid to grill. Add Worcestershire sauce liberally, then turn after about a minute. Apply more Worcestershire once turned, go another four minutes. Shut vents off to grill, let sit for three minutes. Remove from grill. Let meat sit covered with foil for a few minutes.
Use this on grill or BGE with good results.

Some cumin and chili powder are awesome on steaks.....just don't overdo it. One time I got a little too aggressive with the seasoning, and basically ruined two filets that I had cooked perfectly (PERFECTLY!!) medium rare
