About 10 years ago my mom started doing a non traditional Christmas meal.

We've done meals like a Fish Fries, Greek, Mexican, Steaks, Italian, BBQ, Seafood (boiled & fried)
And so on....

Anybody else do this????
Like we say ham & turkey is so played out.

We are planning on grilling steaks and shrimp, along with a variety of side dishes for Christmas this year.

my family has done it a few times, but we always go back to a good ole honey baked ham and fried turkey. this year i think we are smoking a pork shoulder to go along with the turkey and ham

we've done seafood and steaks mostly when we've mixed it up. never greek or anything like that. it was aways good, but i don't think i'll ever really get tired of turkey, ham, and all the sides

I wouldn't be against doing non-traditional if I attended multiple holiday dinners, but if I'm just having one, I want the traditional stuff.

You (or at least I) don't get turkey, ham, stuffing, etc. any other day of the year.

ETA: I think we had Prime Rib with the turkey last year.

I am hosting Thanksgiving and there will be no turkey. My son was hoping that meant I was cooking a roast (for rice and gravy), but I'm not doing that, either. Stuffed pork tenderloin on the grill. And a bunch of starchy sides.

My Grandmother wouldn't be having it.

Turkey for Thanksgiving, Ham for Christmas (Standing Rib Roast on Christmas Eve with the folks). It is what it is.

We go traditional for Thanksgiving, but not Christmas. Baked ham for Christmas Eve lunch, chicken and sausage gumbo for Christmas Eve dinner, and spaghetti and meatballs for Christmas day. This has been for as long as I can remember, and I wouldn't want it any other way.

Sunday before Christmas we assemble all my siblings for a get together and do non-traditional. Typically we smoke or grill something, although last year it was a gumbo.

Eggs Benedict every Christmas morning. Other than that, we are a traditional family.
