Will this affect his USA Today best BBQ Nola ranking?

This raises him to #Legend status.

We've already got people here living with the regret of not going.

Really a shame. He's got the one child in college and doesn't he have another child as well? Not sure how he can afford a family illness without income, if he couldn't afford to expand his business. Sounds like a scary situation if that's the case. He was recently nearly begging for money with the short lived GoFundMe deal and requests for investors.

Seems he couldn't produce enough food to make it work. He allegedly sold out every day, so it wasn't that he didn't have the customers and the potential to increase his customers. He obviously has a good product.

He is a great cook, but bad at managing. He just needed a partner and he would of done fine. Instead of burning bridges for the last five years he could of been building them. No reason he wasn't good enough to be on Magazine or Freret street. Look at Dat Dog which opened around the same time as smoking Buddha. The right manager and the right product and you can go far. Social media is a big part of it and he gets an "F" there.

Her review was at least a 2-star review.
I think this board talked me out of going to Sammich. I like Milk Bar for 'different' sandwiches.

that too.

I like to be able to park where I can see my car so I can see the boot van coming.

Your loss. Some of their dishes were really well done. When I lived close I would hit it fairly regularly.

That's got to be a pain in the arse. Do you actually run out of restaurants mid meal ?

He needed a partner with money to invest so he could operate at longer regular hours.

He didn't do well with social media, but his place, according to his posts and pics was packed every day and he ran out of food every day. His foibles apparently didn't hurt him there. Maybe it kept folks from investing, but we have no idea.

I don't think he completely failed at social media. He just needed to keep the negatives off and lately, he seemed to do that. The pics of his food were great. He also posted pics of food from other local restaurants which was good. I guess he wasn't at war with those folks like he was with other bbq joints. He had some positive energy he should have used more than he did.

That's what I'm wondering.
Can you stop the boot van guy by just going out and intercepting him?

More money more problems.

There is another BBQ place in town that does well and has similar hours excepted for being closed on the weekend.

Did great with social media. He had a long run as a pop up then his restaurant that was off the beaten path and had no sign had a huge following.
