I liked it. They always had a huge crowd.

Executive Chef Ryan Trahan and co-owner Jaques Rodrigue have announced that the trademark brunch buffet at Blue Dog Cafe is no more. The brunch which has been served for more than 20 years will be replaced with an a la carte menu. It will be comprised of old favorites and some new creations by Trahan.

I guess they thing they can make more money with a regular breakfast/lunch crowd. Either that or Trahan is a bitch and thinks brunch is beneath him or something.

Where are the other good brunch places? Ruffino's?

Brick and spoon is pretty good

I’m at the point where we hit early mass and then Hub City for breakfast. I’ll just drink at home.

I don't know that this is really a bad thing. People will still refer to Blue Dog for lunch or whatever they are serving. If they keep the live music, then they retain even more of that identity.

Breakfast, Lunch, or Brunch.....people will still patronize this place based on quality as they see it.

I've never been there. Is he saying that brunch will no longer be a buffet or no longer will they have brunch? And is that so bad if they are no longer having a "buffet?" No judgement just questions.....

It sounds to me like it's just no longer going to be a buffet. Which, honestly I may be more inclined to go if it's not a buffet. I've only been to brunch there a few times, probably because it's a buffet and that's not really something that I enjoy.

I wasn't impressed last time I went. Seems to be a drop in quality from years past. They use frozen biscuits now

French Press made it very clear that they do not want any Trump supporters in the place. I haven't gone back.

Not a French Press fan either. I've found the service is pretty shitty as well. With how horrible the economy is, you'd think owners and managers would be more aware of that kind of thing.

This. It was good but the buffet has deterred me from going there. I prefer a light brunch.

Well damn, that sucks to hear. Haven’t been in about 5 years, so this is good to know.

Take a road trip to the small town of Arnaudville and try the boucherie brunch at The Little Big Cup.

And then hit the Bayou Teche Brewery after. Win-win.
