Let's start over...

Yeah a fricking mexican joint and some other bullshite. Im sure the restaurants moving to PR will not be competitive to the nicer, great restaurants in the city.

So, in other words.
No. You have no idea what is coming in but you are mad!

Does anyone actually know anyone that LIVES @ Perkins Rowe? Didn't they expect a whole lot more from that when they were first opening?

Someone said a mexican place and that sounds kind of locked in. Excuse me for not being more enthusiatic after the recent addition of Applebees.

Never paid subs at citiplace? Never heard that. Of course that's always the crutch of the anti-Spinosa person for PR. never hear it about citiplace.
Funny that we never seem to hear about the crappy, substandard work that a number of the subs did that didn't get paid ..

no because that would make a valid point

Sorry to revive an old thread, but I somehow missed it.
I love Louisiana Lagniappe, but it looks to me like they moved in a former Tex-Mex restaurant or something and didn't bother to change the outside appearance. It does not look the part of what it is.
I think they are at a point where they could probably move across the road, pay higher rent for a bigger place, and pack it night after night and comfortably cover the extra cost.
And, for what it's worth, I must be a hell of a tough amigo because I don't feel the least bit hesitant about going to Citiplace or Perkins Rowe at night.

something like "Bin 777" .. it still looks like it is a wine bar .. we had gone on the 4th of July and it was closed .. so we just peaked inside .. the interior's the same, just a new name .. and yes, B.D. is a great guy
Bin 77, and it's by far the best available in Perkins Rowe IMO. It was when it was the Grape. Just bonus for me that it's now local. Decent aps, and pretty good food. Owner knows his wine, and cool guy. Very personal, as is everyone there in my experience. One of my favorite places to hang after work on Friday and unwind.

Tell you what BR needs, and Perkins Rowe would work. A real tapas bar complete with serrano ham carving setup. Not playtime trying to do too much, just a serious tapas bar. Limited menu changing regularly and cool atmosphere. I think it would kill.

No shite. They've got a tapas bar in downtown Lafayette that does well. I think a place like that downtown, near Southdowns, Towne Center or Perkins Rowe would do great.

I've heard of that place in Laffy. Good stuff too. I need to check that ou next time I'm in the area.
What we need is one of the OT millionaires to pony up with some collateral I can go to the bank with and I assure you I've got some folks in mind that would rock this place silly.

LA Lagniappe is in a space that used to be a Greek restaurant. Zorba's maybe?
Posted on 7/28/12 at 7:37 pm to tracytiger
You're probably right. That's before time here. I wasn't sure what that building was before it was LL, but you could easily tell it wasn't built to be what it is now.

Tapas would kill and a good Cuban place would kill.
I love that the Cuban place in Lafayette -- while it isn't the greatest Cuban food -- has a drive-through window where you can get your to-go Mojitos. Louisiana meets Cuba.

Yes. The Zorba's guys (the Economedes brothers) built the restaurant.

I don't remember Pasta Garden there, but maybe it was when I wasn't living here. I do remember Zorbas being there for a good while.
