We were just in the French Quarter, we enjoyed Louisiana Pizza Kitchen & dinner at Deanies. Both had amazing service and equally great food!!!

Reporting back....
Got there just before noon and I wasn't very hungry so they ended up going to some little cafe'. Said it was nothing fancy but the food was very good. (It wasn't du Monde)
Later on, we ended up going to a place called Muriel's. Very nice place. Kinda fancy for me but still nice. I just got the gumbo. Pretty tasty!

Cafe Beignet on Royal? If so, props to them. Their doughnuts are better than Cafe du Monde.

R2R okay, let's hear it. What's so bad about Muriel's?
Just curious. TIA

I haven't had chicken gumbo at Muriel's, but I've had the duck gumbo and it was excellent. Very dark roux. Very rich flavor and I'm not a duck fan, in general.

It was very good.
My cousin got the pecan crusted drum. She said it was amazing.

ad down Decatur to Coop's. Inexpensive and you can get some very good jambalaya, gumbo, grilled fish, fried chicken, etc
and Verti Marte for Shrimp Philly

I agree. Mother's is solid (would have the best po'boy in BR), but it gets trashed on here for being where all the tourists eat (nevermind the giant line out the door of locals, but those just must be year-round tourists). I wouldn't go to Mother's just because of the line, though. It's a little over-priced as well. There are better options in the city with regards to cost and quickness of service, but Mother's location is clutch and the Ferdie Special is delicious.

My SO and I are big fans of LPK. There used to be one right near her house in BR, but it closed down a couple months ago. She was devastated.
