Hey New Orleans peeps, I know nothing about this place. Is it something to get excited over? Why should I eat or drink there?

Hope it works.
Think that'll be the 3rd or 4th different restaurant in that space since Rock n Bowl opened.

It was a solid place in New Orleans casual dining for many decades and then John Blancher bought it and the surrounding property in 03 when he moved his operation of Rock & Bowl to that location.
The original restaurant is separate from the Rock & Bowl enterprise and the last time the wife and I ate there, the food was still very good. It is priced accordingly and though not the cheapest restaurant, it is certainly not a wallet breaker.
They also have a large garden area across the street from the restaurant on Carrollton Ave. and they grow a lot of what they use in preparing their meals from it. You can't get any fresher than that.
Not sure what they plan for Lafayette as far as menu, but I'd not hesitate to give it a shot.

BBQ Oysters (oysters with buffalo sauce and blue cheese) are legit. Great spot!

I believe they are open. The PTA of our kid’s school gave the teachers dinner from there last week. It was chicken parm I believe. The sauce and noodles were very good as was the ranch dressing for the salad.

I like Mr. Johnny. Glad to see they’re opening up.
