I am looking at getting a New Crawfish Pot and Burner for Christmas. Are Bayou Classics worth it? They seem to be priced higher than the rest. Any body have a Loco pot? They look interesting too. I also found this on a restaurant supply store. I usually like getting things from restaurant supply store because I find they are usually a good price and durable. Thanks for your help.

I’m new to the boiling game at just two years, but they’re all I’ve had and I don’t have an intention of changing.

$370 for a 60 qt cooker and it looks like its an all-in-one type (pot attached to the burner). No thanks. If the burner messes up, you'd have to replace the pot as well.

Bayou Classics are cheap as hell. Most people only need a single jet burner, and the SP10 runs about $70 (used to be half this price years ago). Switch out the regulator for a higher powered 30 PSI one for $25 ( LINK) and it can handle up to a 100 qt pot.

You don't need to go crazy on the pot. There are all these new gimmicky pots, like rocket pot and the one above, that you'll pay a premium of over 100% the cost of a normal pot. I have a 100qt Outdoor Gourmet from Academy and it's fine and is about $140. They sometimes go on sale, and I got it for $100 shipped I think.

Really? I haven't shopped for a pot or burner in years since my King Kookers have lasted forever, but I always felt like Bayou Classic was a cheap level brand. They just don't seem real durable to me.

That's the best looking burner stand + pot at that price. Loco is fine. I have the loco double jet burner but my 100qt pot barely fits on it. The loco pot does have a built in function where you can raise the streamer basket for easy steaming if you steam your seafood or other items.

My bayou classic double jet burner lasted 2-3 years before the propane attachment hose and twist on coupler bit the dust. I got it pretty cheap so I knew it wasnt a long term item to begin with.

I've got your basic 80 qt. aluminum pot, strainer and lid and have been using that same pot for close to 30 years now.

My brother-in-law bought one of those "Turbo Pots" with the aluminum slugs welded to the bottom that will get his pot up to a boil in less than 1/2 the time it takes to get mine to the same boil, but that is all it does that mine can't.

Other than that, same results. The only positive I see with his pot is less propane consumption, but when the day is done, it is not such a big deal.

That being said, when the day comes to replace my current pot, I will get a 120 qt. since I often boil more than 1 sack every time I boil and it would be nice to boil 2 sacks at once and be done with it.

I hate the noise of the Jet burners and they burn a lot more propane.

Here are 2 different styles burners on Amazon that I would recommend. Both are very high heat output and premix with air so they are much quieter and burn much less fuel.

1.... 150,000 BTU LINK

2... 200,000 BTU LINK

Note: I have the first burner mounted on a sturdy frame and it cooks crawfish great.

I also have the second style burner in a smaller size mainly for fish frying. I fry fish in a fairly small dutch oven and found even this small burner puts out too much heat. To reduce the heat output, I put nails in about half the outlet holes and this helps me better control the oil temperature. When I do another fish fry, I will put a few more nails to block off more holes.

Have had the bayou classic banjo cooker for 5 years , minimal noise . Starting to rust a little . Wife is getting me the double burner for Christmas . Less cook time , but loud . I love the banjo , use extra cook time to consume white cans .

Bought the Loco 100qt pot and double jet burner kit from academy.
I really like it and have gotten compliments on it.
She’s not quiet. But it doesn’t really bother me.. just turn the music up a little louder lol

I just got the 60 gallon from them a few weeks ago.
Burns hot as hell, 7 mins to rolling boil. It's the supercar version of boiling. Dude's technology is insane.
