Two new tenants are coming to Perkins Rowe later this year, the mixed-use development announced this morning. Among them is a yet-to-be-named food and beverage concept by City Group Hospitality Co., the group that also owns City Pork and City Slice.

The restaurant group will unveil its concept and culinary direction for the restaurant “in the upcoming months,” Managing Partner Stephen Hightower says in a prepared statement. Whatever the details, the restaurant will operate in the 5,735-square-foot space next to Orvis that was formerly occupied by Applebee’s.
Not a lot of details yet but at least they finally found something do to with that space. It's been vacant for a long time.

May be a bad omen...isn't Perkins Rowe pretty crappy now?

I didn't even know they had a location there
It didn't last long. Not surprising. I doubt many people went to PR to eat at Applebee's

It's fine to me. I haven't been there at night in a long time though.

Terrible fit for Perkins Rowe.

CP and its restaurants generally aren't cheap, but it will have to be expensive to make profits in PR. I'm sure the lease will be $$$$$$

It might be a higher end restaurant. I've generally enjoyed them the times that I've eaten at their various concepts.
Hopefully whatever it is will have a decent lunch menu. I work in that general area.

The music events they put on in the middle of Perkins Rowe are actually pretty cool.... Its just a shame they are surrounded buy shitty chain restaurants like CPK and Kona Grill.
It would be so much better if they had good local places. Give me a Curbside, an Elsie's, a Bulldog, a Superior, etc. Won't happen though because the restaurants are so many sqft and rent is probably a fortune. At least this is kind of a start. Bin 77 is cool, and City Pork guys typically do good stuff.

I’m gonna guess it’s a ramen concept. CP loves jumping on trends

Looks like that's already coming to PR

The City Group restaurant is one of two new restaurants coming to Perkins Rowe this year. Jinya Ramen Bar will open a location this spring in the old VooDoo BBQ space next to the development’s movie theater.

Agree--I go there typically 3-4 times a year to shop, but I never eat there. Did some Christmas shopping at Sur La Table and Orvis, and ended up at the Fresh Market over the restaurant options open at the time.

I went to City Pork on Hollydale a while back and it was a really weird experience. The place was being run by a woman and staff I had never seen before. She said they just took over. The food took a long time and was very meh compared to other meals I've had there in the past.
The location on Jefferson has always been good to me so I wasn't sure if each location in independently run or something..? Anyone know?

They got a very favorable lease rate. And I find them pretty reasonable at Jefferson. Depending on the menu they might end up being a good fit and at least it’s a local group giving it a shot.

Glad something is going there.
Was hoping Louisiana Lagniappe might move there.

I’m not surprised they got a favorable lease. That spot has been empty for a long while and PR needs as many restaurants there as possible to drive tragic to the retail tenants.

quote:There arent many people living there and tenant spaces are about 60% filled. There are business offices there. Would have been a much nicer place had they not built condo's and left it as retail.
