Need to highlight two local restaurants, both at Millennial Park (Baton Rouge)

Royal Taste of Jamaica - ordered several items because I love Jamaican food and wanted food for a few lunches and dinner.
Jerk Chicken - spicy, smoky delicious
Curry Chicken - mild curry flavor, good but had better
Oxtail - 10/10 and one of the best dishes I've had recently.
Rice & Peas and cabbage - both sides were tasty
Memphis Mac BBQ
Ordered some ribs to go because I am a rib fiend. I can honestly say these were the best ribs I've had in the city. Tender, good smoke, and great bark.

Memphis Mac is good. He has a restaurant by Exxon. I believe he was a professor at SU and cooked in BBQ competitions on the side.

I didn't realize that this venue was up and running. A lot on this board ragged on the idea and location but I love to see ideas like this come to life.
eta: not the F&D Board, the OT.

I didn't either until I drove to Royal Taste of Jamaica and it was surrounded by 2-3 other restaurants.

I do as well, and a lot of people are idiots

Millennial Park (Baton Rouge)
He looks more like early Gen X to me. Maybe even a late Boomer.
I've also heard awesome things about his BBQ, and the burger there.

Need to check the place out. I've heard good things. That's the kind of thing an entrepreneur could get into without dumping a lot of cash, so it encourages people to do interesting things.

I pass Royal Taste of Jamaica all the time. Can’t wait to try

Looking forward to trying both of them. The Jive Turkey place was excellent as well.

Orlando had milk carton districts too

Went there for lunch yesterday. Got jerk chicken and curry chicken from Royal Taste. Curry chicken was real good, jerk chicken was better. Both well seasoned, ample serving for $10. Got a drumstick, thigh and half a breast in each order. 9/10 will eat there again. Wanna try the barbecue place next.

Both of these gems were recently closed, for now, due to health code and permit violations.
