I came to Podnuhs but have decided against it. Anything close by that is decent for a quick lunch?

Trio's = low key bar scene with good food
Portico = sports bar type place with good scenery
Magic Grill = best hamburgers and poboys this side of the Mississippi
BBQ PIT (sterlington) - best BBQ in town

ETA: I second Fieldhouse. Great cheap food.

Starve for a while and then head on over to Mohawk Tavern for dinner.

Magic Grill, I’ve heard, is the old ray’s pee gee po boy. I think it’s Ray’s SIL. You won’t find a better roast beef po boy if that’s true. I moved away long ago though.

Mel's Diner off I-20 East Millhaven Exit.

I personally like Danken Trail off Desiard.

Like was said Fieldhouse is good and close to where you are.

There’s nothing worth eating in West Monroe, stay east of the river.

Edit: the Latin Foods place in WM is the exception. Otherwise it’s nothing but chains everywhere.

Magic Grill on 165. Roast beef with fries, dip both in the gravy.

You may be right but last time I was there (about 4-5 years ago) the fish tasted like it was caught from some ditch in West Monroe.

Pretty sure they were serving gar and calling it catfish.
