You can still smoke in bars there?

Oh yeah you can.

Let me know if you want to catch the game. We have a pretty good place to chill.

Also my sister in law is manager of Rose pepper and her boyfriend owns Cobra if your looking for an edgy late night bar.. Yeah it's where that couple was killed last month but it's generally a pretty safe hipster bar and they caught the perps. They had been on a random killing spree all over town.

Check out Homestead Manor in Thompson Station. Great place to take the wife and/or girlfriend, just not both at the same time.

Biscuit Love

Was at the near west side location a couple weeks ago. Disappointing. Had the "big nasty" or whatever they call their signature sandwich and the fried chicken thigh on said sandwich was way to salty. But for a place called "biscuit love" the biscuits are not that great. Heck 70% of southerners make better biscuits. The biscuits, not the ones they make sandwiches out of, are only about and 1.5 inches tall and very average. No cat heads here.

Now Sperry's is a solid choice. The blackened ribeye is always spot on. I like the Cool Spring/Franklin location.

well east nashville is a 2 decade+ old gentrification project in-process.

the area was sketchy as hell before but unfortunately its still close enough to the projects that they creep out in their chargers and harrass people minding their own business.

Stayed at an AirBnB in east Nashville and thought it was a great area. Could tell that it was still undergoing gentrification, but I never felt unsafe.

It's great. Cool little bar area and then great history once inside the main building.

Report back if you get a chance to go.

City house
Rolf and daughters
Folk
Urban cowboy
Henrietta red

Hands down best restaurants in the city.

Hattie b’s is good
Biscuit love is vastly overrated
Peg leg porker and martins on Belmont for bbq
Five points for late night shitty pizza
Cafe roze is a nice all day cafe in east
Fried bologna at Roberts western world
Husk stinks
Pinewood is more of a hangout than a restaurant
The gulch for some reason tourist think they must go there but honestly it’s just apartments and a hotel with a few expensive shops and chain restaurants. Pretty soulless besides the station inn.
12 south is meh

Been here three years and I’m a chef at one of the named restaurants above I recommended

The Ohio-Virginia game has been moved to Vanderbilt because of the hurricane. Admission is free. If I was going to be in Nashville tomorrow, I would definitely go check it out.
