My wife and 2 kids walked onto the patio at 8:25 last night and seated ourselves per instructions. We had been playing baseball all day (Jaxxton had a career day—thanks for asking). There were 2 other tables eating. A waitress checked on the table next to us several minutes after we sat down but ignored us and went back inside to refill their drinks.

At 8:34 (I looked at my watch) the same waitress came to our table and apologized but said they don’t seat tables after 8:30. I told her we were seated before 8:30 and told her we just wanted a pepperoni pizza and we’d be quick. 5 minutes later another girl (presumably a manager) came out and said we could only place to-go orders. I reiterated we just wanted to grab a pizza and beer and we’d be quick. She then said they couldn’t do that because the kitchen was closed—not sure how to-go orders could be placed with a closed kitchen.

Frustrated we left and grabbed some ranch waters from Modesto

Definitely a situation that could have easily been fixed by good employees and managers. It’s their fault.

But…late night restaurants are always risky and you gotta know that going in.

I love Red Zeppelin, but their hours have always been weird to me. They do a solid bar and pizza business, but close at 9 every night. They also don’t post their hours on their website.

Agree—I was apologetic with both employees realizing it was late and they wanted to go home. Sucks because it was still light outside and we would have been gone in 20 minutes. Honestly what got me mad was the manager saying we could place the order to-go and 20 seconds later saying their kitchen was closed

Definitely sounds like they need to display this information more clearly if they want you to seat yourselves

Had I known that we were cutting it close I would have walked inside when we got there to make sure we were seen

Kudos to you for being someone who reads signs. All theu do is provide me ammo with a pissed off, middle aged wife

I couldn't bite my tongue there because now they're just straight up lying to your face

That’s BS. They easily could have told you they don’t normally seat after 8:30, for future reference, but can make an exception. Sounds lazy on their part. It’s a great opportunity for good customer service.

I’ve never been treated that way there but I also don’t go there “travel ball” personified.

They use frozen crust anyway. You made a better choice. Weird that they want to turn away business like that, but sounds like a shitty manager that doesn't like what they signed up for.

Their hours should say open til 8:30pm if they don't seat past that time. The same situation happens with fast food. Most of them close the lobbies and have drive thru only.

Kinda weird hours for a pizza place in a college town…..pizza is good but would be better with a fresh homemade dough instead of frozen…..

It is not a pizza place frequented by or marketed to LSU. It is packed with families and coincidentally families after their kids ballgames

At least you didn’t get the pizza with special sauce.

I’m a fan of the place, but a pizza joint closing at 830 on a weekend night is an unusual choice.

Have you seen Baton Rouge in the summer? Fairly dead in the college scene. It's much easier to eat within walking distance. RZ is more of a local restaurant than a college restaurant if we're being critical of their customer base.

I like Red Zeppelin but their hours have always been all over the place

I assume they do so well on carry out orders they don’t really give a shite about folks who want to dine in
