I see the Bila-Haut at Costco every time I go. I'll pick one up next time I'm in there and give it a try. IIRC it's listed under $15.
Around $13 IIRC. And their Bellarouche is $9.99 at mine, which is also an incredible buy.

What is your favorite red Zinfandel?
Mine is Rombauer. I have yet to taste better. We like the St.Amant Zins but can only get those at Total Wine stores.

Saldo is legit and the price has been cut by almost 30% in the last year.
Check out Macchia and Seghesio

Did not know they made a white blend - will have to check it out.
Pure, uncut 100% pinot Gris. Kind of was a surprise and something we decided to do spur of the moment. Launched it in May and have just about 75 cases left in Washington.
Been on a big Cerasuolo d’Abruzza or Montepulciano d’Abruzzo from Tiberio kick. Light bodied Italian reds perfect with a little chill.

quote:That's a tough one. I love Zinfandel and drink a ton of it each year. The Seghesio family from Sonoma makes a lot of good zinfandel. Their entry level zin retails for around $26. Costco sells it for around $20. The Bogle Phantom, which is a blend of zinfandel and petite sirah is excellent for about $10 less than the Seghesio. Michael David's Freakshow Zinfandel and their 7 Deadly Zins can be very good in some years, and so-so in others.

Btw, I've never tried the Rombauer zin. I'll have to look for it.

Sugar bomb like the 8YITD posted above too.
Ridge or bust for Zin for me. So damn good.

Btw, someone asked me last December when I released my end-of-the-year bargain list if I would do a list mid year for bargain wines. Hence this thread.

Pullus Pinot Grigio. A Slovenian Pinot with the orange tint that many Slovenian whites have.
17 dollars.
Perfect summer drinking wine, slightly more dry than most PGs but a really wonderful and refreshing wine.

How does that Swift taste? I've always hesitated on buying it

Oh for sure, I just brought Ridge up because it’s the same price range as the Rombauer the other guy mentioned. In that price range, it isn’t even close, Ridge is far better.
Chile is still the reigning king currently in terms of quality for the price. Their $10-20 price range is more comparable to a $30-50 price range if you were looking at old world options. Rothschild has a great line of Chilean stuff, and Los Vascos Cab for $10-12 would be served at my table before almost any US cab in the under $50 range.
