Some of y'all suck at reading comprehension. I don't hate food trucks. I'm just not going to the round up anymore.
He addressed valid concerns about attending these things. Enough supply and lack of a CC machine. That is all.
He didn't say these things were the devil and nobody should ever go.

The BR Food Truck Wroundup
5pm-8pm
If you show up at 7:45 and the trucks are sold out, tough. Congrats to the food trucks, they forecasted accordingly.
Go earlier.
This, these hours have always been plainly stated from what I have seen.

I don't think anyone in here is really acting like he said that. No one is calling him names or being rude. They are giving responses/answers to the concerns he expressed.
Someone told him "They are really popular, so don't get out there late" and he said "7:45 isn't late"
But the truth of the matter is.. 15 minutes before closing IS late.
A solution I personally would consider if I were a food truck owner is maybe starting the round up at 6 or so. A little less time in the sun, and still plenty of food at the normal 7:30 dinnertime. People get out there early, but generally not at 5 on the dot. 6 would be a decent time to start it.

I was there when they ran out. The one without a CC machine was a brand new truck I haven't seen before. The trucks mentioned on their social media feeds that this was probably the biggest turnout ever.

I agree....I can only assume that the 5pm start time is in hopes that people will come straight from work before getting "settled in" at the house. And maybe to also catch some passers-by in the 5pm traffic.

Agreed. I might be a yuppy suburban type too because I'm not sitting in 95 degree sun and 60% humidity to eat anything hot. Just not my idea of a good dinner I don't care how good the food is.

FWIW, I haven't been going to the roundups either because right now our heat is unbearable. I'd be willing to bet the truck owners assumed not many people would be out there yesterday since it's hotter than it's ever been for a round up. Combine that mentality with the largest turnout ever happening, I can see why they ran out of food.
I LOVE the food trucks, but I can't do the heat. So I'm on hiatus from the round up for a bit
I know that's basically all the OP was saying, but I guess simply saying you're not going to go to the round up anymore is something that isn't thread-worthy. Starting a thread gives the idea that you're complaining about things and want them fixed.. which is why people responded the way they did.

people in BR eat at 5. it's the most ridiculous thing. or maybe i'm just used to new orleans eating. you go out to eat there, you'll get seated at 7, but you have a wait at 8. in BR you go to eat at 6 and there's a wait
a bit of an exaggeration, of course, but the fact of it is that people get off work and want to go get food. 5 is the proper time to start it. starting it at 6 isn't going to make them sell out any less quickly. it will just make lines longer

It takes 2 minutes to setup square. Literally.

Wasn't speaking directly about you, Golf.
Just making my point about why some people may not like food trucks. Surely there are thousands of people other than you who either have a problem with them or haven't bothered to try them.

Its the most ridiculous thing, I think most my friends eat at or before 6. I dont even think about dinner until 8.

Not sure where you're eating.

Some people have never heard the term 86 this or that item coming out of a brick restaaurants kitchen.

And I didn't think he nailed it because I thought you were, but because he's right. There is a great difference in the two types of customers out there.

We run out of our daily specials every day. That's part of having off the menu specials.
