Going to be there for a few days before the LSU-Wisc game, so far on the list we have:

Gibson's Steak House
Girl and the Goat
Lou Malnattis
Portillos
Untitled Supper Club

Nothing is written in stone, we do have reservations for Gibson's and the research I did made it seem like a solid choice.

Pequods deep dish
The drinking bird for cocktails
Portillos was a very meh Italian beef(although I'm kinda convinced that it is a very meh sandwich anyways)

That's all I got really, I was disappointed with my families choices for food during my recent visit...

I'm a big fan of Rick Bayless. Frontera, Xoco (for lunch) and/ or Topo. Pick any of them.

Pequod's > Lou Malnatti's
Cafe Ba-Ba-Reeba for tapas
Au Cheval
Purple Pig

Drinks: Half Acre Brewing (laid back), Revolution Brewing (bigger crowd), Cindy's Rooftop Bar (overlooks Millennium Park), Three Dots and a Dash (cool underground tiki bar)

I hear it's astoundingly good......If it's one you definitely want to go to.....you may be too late to get a reservation. I'd call now

Booked reservations 2 months ago and it was either 4:30 or 9:30. Got the 4:30 so we're good to go. But for prime hours they were booked til Feb next year.

Went last week

Girl and the goat was amazing.

Cafe Ba Ba Reba was awesome. Great atmosphere

Found a place called Sienna Tavern downtown. Great vibe and food

So many good bars. Went to a place called first draft that was great

Did a goose island tour too.

Had dinner at a place called Wildfire downtown. It was great and not too $$ for the quality

Every meal and drink we had was amazing. Great culinary city. The area by girl and the goat is very cool (west loop)

Pequod's was the best deep dish I had while I was there.

Alinea. But good luck getting in.

Girl and the Goat was the best meal I may have ever had in my life.

Also, this is all good advice:

I am also looking at which bars/lounges to go have some drinks at as well.

Highly recommend going to the bar at the top of the Hancock building. You can either pay about $10 to go to the observation deck, or you can pay about $10 for a drink at the bar one floor higher. Great sweeping views of the city all the way to Milwaukee on a good day. Very cool to see during daylight and again at night.

Around 3 or 4 in the afternoon during the week is probably a good time to avoid the Happy Hour crowd and get good seats.

Between the observation deck and the floor above it, which one do you recommend?

We're also staying at the Trump International, is the bar in there any good?

Pequod's Pizza

Wear Cardinals gear. They love that.

Cocktails:
Berkshire Room
Three Dots and a Dash
Watershed
Longman & Eagle

Beer spots:
Hopleaf (north side)
Half Acre
Revolution

Food has been well covered...Girl & the Goat, Purple Pig, Pequod's. Add The Publican to that list...that area around Au Cheval and G&G is outstanding for food/bar hopping

Girl and the Goat is one you have to reserve a couple months in advance.

Stephanie Izard, who is the Executive Chef at Girl and the Goat, recently opened (few months ago) Duck Duck Goat. I was fortunate enough to get a table on opening night and it was incredible.

Roasted Pig Face is my favorite thing on the menu.
