Most ppl I know want their burgers close to medium well. Steaks are different. Anywhere from rare to well done.

i blame fast food for this. when 80% of the burgers you eat are mcdonalds/wendys/burger king and they're little flat brown hockey pucks, you are going to be conditioned into thinking thats how its supposed to be cooked.

i always liked fuddruckers because i could get a rare-arse burger and it was THICK and delicious. never understood why people didn't like that place.

Working in the kitchen of one restaurant you learned to know the make-up of who was on the floor byway of what was ordered.

Good for you, you avoided many hazards. One about thirty years ago involved two gallons of hot soup and my nether regions, the scream produced silenced the entire very packed place with a band. Ah memories.

Unfortunately not the case at all, but amusing none the less if people get their feelings hurt when you tell them that. My engineer parents and many of their engineer friends and lawyer/doctor friends all get medium/well or well done. It's all seemed pretty random among my friends as to who likes medium rare versus medium well or higher as well.

hamburgers well done

can you explain this? i mean that cut of meat is already pretty thin as it is..you want to cook what little juiciness is left out of it? ..at that point doesn't the patty itself serve as filler for the lettuce and tomatoes & onions (all of which, btw are better uncooked)

why bother with the burger at all? just swap out for fake soy or something..there's no taste left in the meat.

..and this coming from soneone who LOVES jerky..especially homemade. but thats a completely different thing entirely.

Order it blue rare last night at Wolfe's. He did the Pittsburgh blue to it. Holy shite that was a good steak.

I'd been served normal blue rare steaks before that were just rarer than rare, but this one was burnt on the outside raw in the middle. Nutty.

I think you just answered your own question.

Not sure why some you are being so snobbish about this. It's a fricking hamburger. It's fricking ground beef. I like a hamburger well done bc I like the burnt smoky taste and I the thing that makes a burger great is the fixings.

fricking ground meat.

I'm equally as happy with a medium rare or medium steak.

But i like hamburgers well done so I Must be a poor frick who doesn't like good beer?

Give me a break. Dumbass

Eta. Last part wasn't directed at CAD obviously.

The fact that an animal was grass fed doesn't have shite to do with the e coli risk associated with undercooked commercially made hamburger that may have come from the damn thing.
Yeah, that one threw me too. I like grass fed beef (had a ton of it in Argentina), but it has nothing to do with processing and e-coli.
